Does this equipment on my pole mean FTTP is coming?

Hi all recently noticed some new equipment has been added to our phone pole.
Currently struggling with 40Mbps download speeds at our house and I'm super excited to finally get Full Fibre.
Does this equipment look like Fibre setup has begun or am I getting carried away lol

Yep CBT up there. (connectorized block terminal) for GPON. But it could also be for someone's business. What does the openreach/bt broadband checker say for you? or bidb.uk ?

At the moment it's still saying Full Fibre is unavailable, but I'm pretty sure it's not finished yet as there are a lot of black cables tied up dangling near the bottom of the pole. I'm guessing they get fed underground when the time comes

That won’t be a single business or even a business park. It’s just an incomplete rollout, hence the checkers are behind.

If they deliver DIA/EAD Ethernet circuits now over “FTTP” infrastructure then they terminate and come of at the nearest node, rather than via a CBT.

I thought FTTPoD came via the CBT ? (its been a while since I bothered to get into all that with Cerberus though)

Yes, to be clear FTTPoD would be. Although it's becoming increasingly rare these days.

If the OP keeps an eye on both the OR and the BTW checkers then its likely the status will change once they've hooked up the CBTs.

Edit to say that even if it was FOD that would still benefit the OP as they could piggyback on the largess of their neighbours. They would have an orderable 'native' service. Much as my neighbours had avaibale to them once my FOD was active (they didn't share/pay in the FoD to be clear, not that I care or requested it).

Thanks for all the helpful replies guys, I guess I'll just keep an eye on the Openreach checker and hopefully it goes live pretty soon, after years of 40Mbps download speeds getting speeds of up to 900Mbps is gonna be insane, can't wait

Do we know for sure that Openreach are the ones doing this specific rollout? There are quite a few altnets that use similar CBTs now.

I should add that the time-lag between seeing the infrastructure and actually being able to access a live service can still be significant with some operators, running to months or even longer. Experiences do vary, but patience is key.

I'm still waiting for Cityfibre's deployment to go live on my street, and it's been 12-13 months since the CBT was stuck on a pole.

Never can be 100% sure , but the yellow tags below, suggest it is. Could also be AltNet+AltNet or AltNet+Openreach for that matter...

If the OP has a look on bidb.uk then that may also show any related street works permits etc that may be in play nearby....

I'm aware Netomnia are using the similar Corning/CommScope CBTs - any others AltNets that are using this specific style? Mostly they default to the HellermannTyton hinged enclosures.

Hi guys just to follow up I've been in touch with Openreach and they have confirmed FTTP is coming and it's them who have fitted the equipment. They say it should be available to order before the end of January 2023. So not a bad result, just a few more months hopefully and I'll finally have full fibre, really looking forward to it
