Draytek Vigor 130, TP-Link Archer AX11000 & Sky

Just bought the above to use on Sky and cannot even get it connected.

The Vigor appears to connect (in one part of the config, not in the other). I have set it to Bridged POE mode.

When setting up the Archer, it asks for time zone, and whether its static, dynamic, PPPOE etc. I autodetect, it selects PPPOE

The Sky username and password I have used is the one all over the net (abcdefgh@skydsl, 1234567890abcdef

It will not connect at all.

I bought this combo on the basis it was supoposed to be easy, but it seems I must haver missed a step?

It is my understanding is that on DSL you still need DHCP option 61 to get an IP address from Sky.

The Draytek 130 supports DHCP option 61 but this function is obviously bypassed when set to bridge mode.

I can't see any such facility in the Archer AX11000 user guide.

Hmm, as I understood it, the Archer worked on sky. Perhaps an expensive mistake :(

Is there any benefit is using the Vigor is non bridged mode?

Some TP-LINK Routers have Option 61 if they have a DSL modem.

I see no reason why Router functionality cannot be set in the Draytek (or Sky) and then use the AX11000 as a switch/AP until you change providers or FTTP comes your way.

Others may have alternatives.

AFAIK, none of the TP Link standalone routers support Sky MER DHCP Option 60/61. Its only their modem/routers (VR range) which have Sky MER settings built-in.
