Hi,
We moved into a property 10 years ago and started out with Sky broadband, which was rubbish, moved to Three mobile broadband and ditched the landline, which was dirt cheap, £15 a month unlimited and faster but became unreliable. As I work from home this wasn't ideal. I've move to EE, the same provider as my phone, and they've been rock solid with wifi max 96 mbps, average 50 mbps download and max 32 mbps, average 26 mbps upload speeds. Now paying £30 a month. Friends locally are getting 5 mbps through their landline and others are signing up to Gigaclear, which I feel is over priced and over specced for the average persons needs, but that's another story.
So speed wise I'm fairly happy. But my kids are getting older and starting to eat into the bandwidth! I'm using my old Three router, HUAWEI B535-232 CAT7 USB 300mbps 4G Home/Office Router, with my EE micro sim but I'd like to eek out a few more mb download and improve coverage around the house.
My sim is 5G enabled so I wondered what options are out there as I don't want to pay the £50 a month EE are offering for the new wifi 7 smart hub? When I look up Triband wifi 7 mobile routers the options seem to be extremely limited. There looks to be lots of wifi 6e dual band options but not sure they'll really make that much difference?
Thanks
Rich
