e7even problems

E7Eventually

'Lo.

I'm new 'ere myself, and have been using E7even for 7-8 months quite happily. I'd subscribed to the 2Mb service and it had been seamless for me, although there were many 'complainers' posting on the ADSLGuide site.

That all changed 10 days ago, when E7 started to make significant changes to their servers structure. My service failed - and has stayed failed - ever since. Eventually, I discovered that a free dialup facility had been provided ( and I'm using it now ) as a 'temporary service'. I await developments.

Since they transfered me to the @bbuk realm, I've barely had a connection at all.
Just asked for my MAC code as I can't take any more.
I am seriously considering going to NewNet.

Anyone got any comments on this?
As I don't want another E7 ISP.

Regards,
Jason

e7 are the worst ISP

Warning do not sign up with these nob jockeys.
i unfortunatly migrated from F2S to these [EDITED] and have had nothing but grief.
for 2 weeks it was fine then suddenly i couldnt even connect to google!
i complained to E7 and was told to submit various speed and ping tests, which i did but 80% of the test i couldnt submit as the connection was to slow. anyway i complained again and called them names and they disconnected me since december and now they wont give me a MAC code so i cant leave.
i have contacted OFCOM about this matter.

anyway they are the worst isp out there - you have been warned

i am a IT and network consultant of 16 years so im not being a prick about it.

[EDITED]

all i wanted to do was play BF2 and i couldnt.

btw it is £1 a minute to call there customer support lines - me thinks that is why there service is bad so they make there money from support

i could rant for ages about these [EDITED] - just safe yourself the misery and look elsewhere.

ZEN are good but pricey - but you get what you pay for
[EDITED]

Please remember these forums are here to allow members to find a new ISP, tell others of the problems they have had. Regardless of how annoyed you are there is no need to swear, threaten or be abusive. Its just that attitude that made them disconnect you and they are perhaps coverd by their T&C. Your only way out will be to change your billing name or have a change of number then you will be free to move elsewhere.

My connection has been absolutely pathetic since they started mucking around migrating servers.

Speed (or lack of it) has been the main problem, also intermittent disconnections.

The customer service is virtually non-existent, they've yet to respond to any of my phone calls. E-mails take about three days for an answer to arrive and then don't address the questions I've asked.

They are now blocking emails from a yahoo group I use for some reason, I know not what.

Been waiting since last Saturday for a MAC.

Basically it's a third world service from a fourth rate company.

e7

Here's the result of a speed test I did a couple of minutes ago. This is on a 512kbs ADSL connection.

Downstream 42 Kbps (5.3 KB/sec) 45 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 252 Kbps (31.5 KB/sec) 272 Kbps (inc. overheads)

The upstream speed shows a considerable improvement on previous tests.

I think the @bbuk realm is on the mend.
Not fixed but better!!!!

As I have already asked for my MAC code, when I get it, do I have to leave E7 or can I treat it as an insurance policy?

Jason

Hi Jason

Your MAC Code will have an expirey date and once its past that you would have to ask again. This might not be rocomeneded as some ISPs charge for MAC codes and E7 might decide to stat charging if people were asking for MAC codes and then not migrating out.

Jason

Some ISP's also take the issuing of a MAC code your notice to cancel the account. So if you don't use it and don't advise e7even you aren't going to use it you might find your broadband stops working after 30 days.

I've been reading the threads on ADSLGuide about e7even and is the amnesty of issuing MAC's and cancelling contracts a limited time offer ? If it is you may find that if you don't use it you may still be held to your current contract and a new one may noy be issued.

I'd check this out if I were you so you don't get stung.

I've also been reading some of the posts at ADSLGuide, someone posted that you have to contact E7broadband once you've used the MAC to obtain the refund.

As Bignige points out some ISPs will treat a MAC code request as notice to cancel, so do let them know if you change your mind.

I notice E7broadband have got a new special offer - up to 8Mb/s unlimited broadband plus free uk phone calls for 15 quid a month  .

I assume:
a) they must be losing a fortune on this.

b) This means they must think they are well on the way to a fix.

Also my brothers download speed has fallen, which might suggest more users are actually now able to connect. Previously it was so high I was beginning to wonder if he had a central all to himself!

My rant is due to frustration.
And why are you trying to get at me? We are all supposed to be on the same side, I’m not the bad guy here and besides people need to know that E7 are a bad company. I took the time out to tell people about the company and you are taking time to burn me. What’s that about?

Your comment is stupid and makes no sense.
You don’t know me
Even if I was 12 what does it have to do with anything?

Constructive criticism works but your just trying to get your post score up

Don't you think I'm frustrated with E7!!!

My so called rant at you was to do with all the swearing in your post.
Don't get me wrong, I swear, but there are people on hear that don't want to read or see it.
Picture it....
Your sat with your mum looking through ISPReview and you come across all that language... not good for ISPReview is it.

As for the post count, thats another stupid comment added to your list.

For everyone else, thanks for all your comments on the MAC code.

Regards,
Jason

Rare you can’t read or you just fail to understand

I wasn’t ranting at you but at E7 – you should read my post.
This is your quote “I'd put you no older than 12 after that post”

How is that having a go at the language I use? Do adults not use adult language?

I don’t know about you but I don’t sit with my mum whilst reading ispreview! Is it better then cookies and a bed time story with her?

p.s. whats with the knife slit and the dripping blood?

Picture this, you’re sitting with your mum, one hand holding teddy and you say to mummy “what does that knife slit with dripping blood supposed to represent”
You have kids and your almost 40 ffs – what sort of message are you giving out.

Also what’s with the website? you have a referral page to E7 on it !
what’s with that
I think hypocrisy
p.s. love the bikes dude

I've been with e7 for about six months - paid for 2 years up front at £10 per month.
For the last few days I've consistently been able to connect within a minute of midnight every night, and am disconnected sometime after 7.40am in the morning - thats the last time of email arriving.
It is so consistent I think it is deliberate - perhaps I'm paranoid, but i suspect e7 want me to migrate. they are losing money on my contract. I've finally applied for a MAC. Would love to sue them to fulfill the contract but lifes too short.
Is anyone else thats been transferred onto the bbuk realm experiencing a similar pattern/

You paid for 2 yrs upfront and only had 6 months service @ £10 a month so you are about to lose £180 by migrating out due to E7 failing to supply the service they was paid for..

First I would never recomend paying upfront for any internet service second I would be causing them as much grief as they are giving me. Constantly call email them for a refund. Report them to Trading Standards, ofcom and watchdog.
