just wondering if anyone else has had issues with them recently..

well.. not so much Ebuyer itself but its delivery companies. last week l finally reached my budget limit for an upgrade on my comp and most of my bits came next day, except one item which happened to be sent from a different warehouse which happened to use DPD..

considering the package was sent next day delivery (should have arrived saturday) somehow it ended up in Aberdeen (475miles north of me) now initially l was slightly amused after all its not very often a package from a warehouse around 50miles south east of me travels that far it usually just goes to a Gloucester depo, however l was assured a pre-noon delivery up til 30mins ago the tracking details stated it was on its way there.. but to add insult to injury tracking now states its been delayed in Birmingham.. and the excuse l get from DPD "the van broke down" my reply "well if you had not directed a package for Herefordshire to Scotland l wouldnt have this problem".

sorry for ranting, but felt the need to warn ppl against using DPD where possible, surprisingly at least l know where l stand with Yodel.. hell l got a full refund from them when they lost one of my packages but DPD told me l had to speak to the sender insinuating it wasnt their problem.

If you contact Ebuyer you will find them very helpful, I once ordered an item that was suddenly dropped in price day after. I contacted them explained the problem they reduced my order refunding the difference. Goods were already in transit so couldn't cancel and reorder.

Although it doesn't tally with your experience, we have DPD here a few times a week sometimes (Amazon Prime) and they seem fine.

Some things are a day late, but I've noticed this more with Amazon Prime - you're supposed to always get free next day delivery but it's not always next day - maybe 4 out of 5 times. Never noticed that when I had to pay each time for delivery.

Yodel was the one with the issues, but Amazon seem to not use them any more.

If you order something expensive it sometimes comes via UPS.

wish l had brought that up with ebuyer.. ended up spending an extra tenner on the i5 processor then 6 hours later it went back down to the price it was 6 hours prior.

am hoping to see if l get some blood out of DPD because the package hasnt been delayed once, but twice!! when l called yesterday l was assured a pre-noon delivery, today lve been assured delivery before 10am tomorrow and that if there are problems that they will use a third party company to make sure it gets to me.. however if l end up waiting another day the free next day delivery token ebuyer gave me out of good will (despite it not being their fault) wont be enough as lve wasted enough time waiting on the package on a system l could have rebuilt a few times over by now.

Never had a problem with DPD, in fact their delivery service seems to be one of the best, they tell you what time during the day they'll be delivering and you can(could?) watch the driver's location on a map with his current delivery number and your number. Ebuyer were a bit unpredictable years ago when they were just starting out, had to carefully check the ordered goods against whatever they had sent you, I think they're much better nowadays.

No problems with DPD here either. I do find it a little odd that, for example, something coming from Romford, Essex, to north-west London goes via Birmingham, but it seems to work, everything I've had which they've been responsible for delivering has turned up as advertised.

Most (possibly all) of the courier companies have their depot for my area somewhere on the Park Royal industrial estate, and are not known for their ability to find staff with a brain (which, I admit, is a hard job in this part of London), but DPD drivers do recognise a doorbell when they see one, they don't just rattle the letter box on the shared front door and expect me to hear it up in a first floor flat like some of them.

Like all delivery services, you get good and bad drivers, my local Amazon delivery driver turns up at between 5pm and 7pm because he know most people are out during the day, and even delivers on a Sunday now!!!

well considering the package went through Aberdeen before even getting to Birmingham makes it even more confusing.

that said DPD have been a complete waste of time.. after all my complaining yesterday and being told that l would get the package by 10am, along with the assurance that if there were problems they would use a 3rd party dispatcher to get me my parcel... guess what tracking says now? l doubt l'll be seeing it tomorrow either since according to the tracking its gone full circle. it left the original hub friday and had a little holiday in Aberdeen till tuesday, took a stopover in Birmingham and now its back where it started.

so essentially everythings back where it started!

l cant believe lm saying this but lve had better service from Yodel at least l got my money back in addition to an extra £20 for my time within one days of them loosing my package and that was directly from yodel itself..

No problems with DPD here, although Yodal and even Royal Mail sometimes enjoy giving or leaving my parcels to either..

a) My "neighbours" who I don't know.. 8 houses down the street!

b) Next doors recycle bin.

c) Our trash bin, I kid you not! They put the parcels in our general waste, gosh thanks. I'm not sure that equals "leaving in a safe location on your property", but I guess thieves don't check your food waste?

d) Leaving the parcel at the backdoor, completely uncovered, in the rain.

Needless to say I've already had to action 2-3 claims against both delivery firms. So far I'm just glad they haven't tried putting them somewhere even more ridiculous, like up the cats bottom.. but given time.

lve just been informed that the package has been relieved back by Ebuyer... despite the fact DPD said it would be here today!!!

and guess what the reason for the return was? supposedly l wasnt in.. which is funny because Ebuyer know l was because l called them yesterday to ask if they could chase it up in addition to contacting DPD myself but Ebuyer have informed me that due to all these issues that they WILL get the package to me via the enote system and that they are currently arranging dispatch now and hope its with me within the next couple of hours.

lve only ever had one previous dealing with DPD here and it took a week to deliver next day (tho that package wasnt for me, l signed for it).. but so far lm very far from impressed with the company.

@ Mark, cat6 is sooo last week, surely it should be cat7??

I NEVER pay extra for fast delivery; if the parcel company is any good it will turn up early, and if they are cr@p, it doest matter how much they get paid, the parcel rarely turns up on time.

My average for 3-5 days free delivery is 2 days, with a large number of Amazon orders turning up the following day.

that generally works for other stores, but when you choose Ebuyers supersaver delivery which is up to 5days wait time it really does mean 5 days which means if your hoping something arrives sooner youll not get it til the 5th day..

granted supersaver was what l used for the order lm having issues with but... this month they are having a free next day delivery thing going and seeing as their system seems to mess with orders using paypal meaning l would have had to pay delivery as well.

hell it feels like l already did considering that the price went up on the i5 CPU l purchased.. slept 6 hours and the price went upto £131 then by 6am it was back to £126.. tho l think l missed my window to ask about it since its been like 5/6 days.

Yeah, well,,, I wont use Ebuyer after a very poor experience trying to return some DOA equipment years ago.

It is right up there on my ship-list - next to Ebay.

I'm having 'fun' with Scan at the moment. A power supply failed a few weeks after it arrived. So we contacted them and their courier collected it. However, they won't refund us because it got damaged in transit and have sent proof to show the damage. However, I can't see how it could have happened because the power supply was wrapped in bubble wrap and in a hard cardboard box, which itself was wrapped in thick bubble wrap and another hard box surrounding it all!

yodel? dpd? gotta be one of those considering how the package got to me.. Ebuyer sent it directly to me via a different company... however either way l look at it, this package traveled over 1000miles to get to me at least.

they werent happy that dpd said they delivered it considering it never reached the destination it was supposed to.

doesnt surprise me.

I don't a such see how it's relevant to the returns query. Firstly, if they broke it, that's their problem, not mine. I was returning the power supply as failed and therefore it wouldn't matter if it arrived bashed...

kinda makes me think that when things are returned its always worth taking a picture of both the item and the packaging, that way they cant complain, because when things leave it allows you show them it left in one piece but arrived in many.
