ecosse.net - again

From evening of 10th January 2008 breathe the server for ecosse.net ceased functioning.

I know 4 customers who experienced this.

Logging on to my own account after the migration away from cali.co.uk has never worked, and contacting breathe is as far asI am concerned not possible.

As at NOW() 11:46 11th January mail.ecosse.net is still off.

ecosse.net a disgrace for what used to be a good site

the transfer and service since the move to breathe has been a disgrace the service seems to be down all the time with no access to mail for two days now. i work in IT and if we gave this level of service we would be sacked

I was proud to have an ecosse.net address now i have had enough and am going elsewhere

This is the problem - ecosse.net is a great domain for us who live in Scotland.

PLEASE BREATHE.NET CHARGE US IF YOU MUST, BUT GET IT GOING AGAIN!!

ecosse.net

has anyone got a solution to the lack of e-mail again on ecosse or are we all going to have to leave and find a new e-mail????

ecosse.net has worked very well for me and my wife for at least the last 10 years or so, but since the move to breathe.net, it has been hopeless, full of spam and not user friendly so I am now going elsewhere despite thie grief with new email addresses etc.

Shenval, et al, it is the domain address that I so like, and for so many years the service was so good too. It is a shame.

Time now 18:39 and they promised it would start this evening - not so far.:(

Interested to hear that some accounts have *never* worked since migration to Breathe - my Mum complains of the same thing, and I just put it down to her being really non-techie and computer-phobic. But then again - why should should she need to be a techie to use her email?!?!?

I just think it's a disgrace that this is happening. I know it's free, but fur fox ache - Calico managed to give us free email, great service, always online! this bunch are a chuffing joke.

As many others have said - if my ecosse.net email didn't give me the best name, the best domain name, and the best address I could imagine - I'd be off like a shot.

Somebody let me know when it's back up - I'm bored checking.

Surprise, surprise - it is still down this morning - I am planning to contact Calico, the previous suppliers of ecosse.net to see if they have an alternative email system as I am thoroughly ed up with breathe net's poor performance.

I have only received a few emails since it came back up yesterday and have none from the time between Thursday lunchtime and yesterday afternoon and I know that I was sent at least two emails during that time. The ones I did receive this morning seemed to have all ben read before as well which was strange.

The re-emergence of mail.ecosse.net has been very spasmodic - first connecting with no acitvity, then one email of immediately recent vintage, then a few more ... BUT I know there have been loads sent to me that have not come.

One clue as to where they are is that people have started to ring and text asking what is wrong and why the bounced emails.

So there may be lost mails but for some the sender realises that.

webmail.ecosse.net is news to me as well. I see loads of mails from the October/November period in the Trash folder - 'THINKS' smell of rat.

Ecosse.net is still not right

:mad:The other strange thing I have noticed is that any newmails I receive appear to have been opened and do not show up as unread. I have opened up a googlemail account and it seems to be very user friendly and easy to use, so although I like my ecosse.net email address and am reluctant to give it up, it looks like I will be changing to googlemail for good.

A wise choice for everyone to consider - regardless of ISP.

If your email is completely independent of your ISP you've got a lot less hassle if you have to change your ISP (or indeed if your ISP dies).

Fortunately I made that choice a long time ago - and didn't lose any email data or contacts when the V21/NetServices dispute started (I've got both google mail and yahoo mail accounts - real "belt-and-braces")
