Were you on EDGE at the start of that test? nPerf has to POST (Upload/Send) data to it's servers to get the information to start the test, since you got the 0.00Mb/s on Upload technichally that would've been impossible unless I'm missing something
I forced my phone to 2G only, opened the nPerf app fresh and it detected the connection no problem and began the test. WiFi was also turned offWere you on EDGE at the start of that test? nPerf has to POST (Upload/Send) data to it's servers to get the information to start the test, since you got the 0.00Mb/s on Upload technichally that would've been impossible unless I'm missing something
So maybe if you have the app open and ready before you drop to Edge, it could work? or i'm wrong
I wish that were the same for me, twice yesterday walking the dogs I left the house and was stuck on Edge. This is quite anecdotal, however I have noticed since updating my iPhone to ios 18 beta 4, and enabling the SA 5G option, I am no longer seeing my phone switch to Edge in locations it would always previously. I need to do some further testing but it seems to be better.
You really see the EE advantage when doing long drives, I ditched Three after Wales -> London was on 3G for hours straightI drove up from London to Liverpool on Friday and there was a lot of Edge - for many miles in some spots (particularly going through the Bicester area) and to be honest it’s completely unacceptable as we’re talking about the Strategic Road Network, not A and B roads, but major motorways. It would pick up one bar of 4G which didn’t work and then push me onto Edge (3/4 bars) before going no signal. The Vodafone network, in my opinion, is increasingly unstable and I’ve had enough of it. My partner is with EE had none of these issues on the same drive, so I’ll be moving to EE.
That patch around Bicester on the M40 has always been awful on VF. You either get hopeless weak 4G or Edge, but it was that way before the 3G switch-off. The lack of a mast there is inexcusable when EE have 2 in the area.I drove up from London to Liverpool on Friday and there was a lot of Edge - for many miles in some spots (particularly going through the Bicester area) and to be honest it’s completely unacceptable as we’re talking about the Strategic Road Network, not A and B roads, but major motorways.
