Ee 5g modem info

In my experience I have nearly always got better results using an external router (or an internal router in a waterproof box) instead of an external antenna. signal loss in the cable is usually signifigant.

I have a Teltonica TBR500 in a homebrew waterproof box that gives me good results with the standard omnidirectional antennas installed.

https://linitx.com/product/quwirele...lyPZc2-DX6fWikmarLMppUSh3U_xpyNBoCXCEQAvD_BwE is an interesting product for Teltonika routers but very expensive.

Thanks, do you know if the Zyxel 5103E would work as well?, It’s trickier than I’d thought to get the band specs for 5G routers. I can’t seem to find any 5301 available to buy.

For an external antenna would the ‘Poynting 4x4 5G XPOL-1’ work it looks like it supports 698Mhz - 3800Mhz, and googling it nr28 is 700Mhz?
Yea, sorry typo I meant the 5103, I've tested the EE version and it does work ok with External Antennas but it is very locked down in terms of Band and Cell Locking etc, I believe the Three Version let's you do a bit more tweeking but can sometimes have 5G Firmware issues, never played with the Three version so can't help there, some other Members on here may have better experience of the Three one.

Poynting, Panorama, Huawei would be my preference for Antennas, in real life there is no such Antenna that will work flat across 700 to 3500 so it's always going to be a comprise between them on different Bands, their are peeps on the EE Forum that have had good results using the Polish 4x4 Antenna, Name escapes me at the mo, I find out.

You could also use two lots of 2x2 Mimo Antennas and get some spacing between them that sometimes works better than a single 4x4 Unit.

Might be worth having a play with Cellmapper to see where your local EE Masts are etc before deciding on an Antenna Type.

I also wouldn't rule out using and Outdoor Router for your needs.

The Polish 4x4 Antenna I was refering to above is mage by QuWireless by the way, again never played with it, but it has good feedback on EE front

Thanks will take a look. Hopefully this will be the last question I bother you with, would the 5103 ev2 also work?, It's a 2x2 rather than 4x4. Or is it better to go with 4x4 as more antennas = better speeds/more reliable.

I believe the EV2 is a remake of the 5101, if so then the 2 Antenna Ports could probably be for 5G, n77/n78/n79 Bands only.

For your info, a Full 4x4 Mimo Connection over 2x2 will effectively nearly double the DL speeds.

You won't get 4x4 on the n28 Band for now, (not enough Bandwidth) therefore it's 2x2 only, you could or may get 4x4 on n1 and some of the higher 4G Bands if the Mast your connected supports it.
