I'm in the unfortunate position of having a 20% Perkbox discount dropping off at the same time as a high CPI-linked increase which gives a de facto price increase of a factor of 31.24/21.85 = 1.4297 which is an increase of 43%. Feeling lucky I didn't go for something like a GBP 60 plan which would increase to something like GBP 85.78.
I've phoned up EE and they don't have anything like the GBP 17/mth unlimited plan available, or anything better than the publicly available plans at all. Hoping for some sales with the upcoming bank holiday otherwise might need to consider jumping ship to Scancom at non-sale prices. Likely to make a move some time between now and August. Not sure I can hang on to Black Friday in Nov.
GBP 31.24 is for a 200 GB allowance with Stay Connected (0.5 Mbps or 2.0 Mbps cap) and Video Data Pass which is equivalent to unlimited data for my usage.
Sadly this pricing compares badly to an O2 plan I will be migrated to from Virgin Mobile which proportionally is more competitive at GBP 7/mth for a 100 GB allowance (unknown if this is implemented as a scam discount which falls off, causing a huge price bump in Apr 2024 in excess of the advised price increase).
