Random, but does anyone know if its possible to give someone else (family member, friend) your EE Inclusive Extra, eg; Netflix, Apple Music etc?

Yep, you’d have to have the login details for the chosen service, activate your selected add-on and then link it to their account.

They could in theory set up a temp password as long as 2FA isn’t switched on, then once you have added it to their account change it back to their own password.

Dont quite understand

If I take the EE contract, do EE send a code or a signup link? If so, wouldnt I just give them to my family member who already has X Box service (and wants my benefit)?

Are you saying I need their login details to activate it?

You log into your EE account and chose your selected inclusive add-on and it should send you a link by SMS which will allow the person to link it to the selected service. I suppose it could work if you send that link on to them.

I can’t recall if it has to be done from your handset or not. If no, all is good and they have the service, otherwise they’ll have to share a password with you for the service so you can do it for them.

Looking for some guidance.

So as people know EE has 20GB for £9 per month (seems like they don't check if you actually are a BT customer). This moves to £7 per month with student beans code. Obviously it's a 2 year contract so that means £8.50 come April 2025 to £10 for 2026.

I know everybody is like "1p Mobile is much better since a rolling contract" but 1p is going to be £8 for 10GB. I get double that with EE for what would be £0.50 more.

I know I lose alot of flexibility going with EE but I also know EE aren't going anywhere aswell as having much better signal and a solid number to start from if wanting to port somewhere else. I also guess I can recontract with EE before the price rises come in anyway?

CMLink, 20GB for the same £9. But with the same flexibility as 1P Mobile with a 30 day rolling contract and no annual price increases that EE Will impose on you. Free roaming as well. As for your final point. Both CMLink and 1P Mobile issue EE Phone numbers anyway so you are safe in that sense too. Also when prices rise at EE you can't recontract to get a better deal. It's written into your 2 year contract so you're locked in and have to accept the increase. So next April it will go up by £1.50, and again the following April another £1.50. By the end of your contract you'll be paying £12/Month.

The main reason I binned EE after many years and went to 1p was because of EE's annual price rises. Never felt to me like they were playing a straight bat with that carry-on. The price they quote you is a bait-and-switch, essentially. And locked in for two years? No thanks.

CMLink also offer 60GB/month prepaid for a yaer, £110 so it works out to about £9.16/month.

I would have went for this if it wasn't for Lebara offering 50GB for £1.25 (definitely not as fast as the EE network though)

Totally agree, the last time I had any form of 'locked in' from any bank or business etc was some 8-10yrs ago and I dont want to get started on that annual prices rise. 💢

Thanks everybody. CM Link seem good but main support language is Mandarin. Some issues can be complex so having English as first language is probably preferable.

I know trustpilot isn't a great source but they do say spam calls started and very frequently with CM Link. Maybe better to go with 1p Mobile even if slightly more expensive. Will think about it. Will see if any better deals come up from 1p Mobile and just hope Lebara stay active for now.

They have English support. I’ve talked to them on the phone before and a couple of the agents have British accents (not too surprising considering they are in Hong Kong) and are perfectly proficient in English. Some others clearly aren’t native English speakers but never felt a language barrier. Same with email communication too. They reply to these emails within a few minutes anytime of day or night and are super helpful to get things resolved immediately. I personally view Asian customer service as a good thing, not bad.

The spam calls issue has been fixed. They no longer use a fixed number range (07421) which was previously targeted by scammers making Chinese language calls. They now use EE numbers assigned completely at random which aren’t issued to a SIM until you activate it. Previously you had to port another number in from elsewhere to make these calls stop but now you just don’t get them at all anyways.

I’ve been with them for a long time and have brought loads of friends and family members over to them. They’ve gradually got better and better. I can’t anticipate you having any problems especially now.

Makes sense how am getting 3/4 spam calls in Chinese each day with an old orange originating number starting 07421!

Question:

if someone had an 07421 number when signing up to a provider and then ported another number in and so the 07421 number is replaced by the number ported in, will one still have Chinese spam calls?

Nope. As I mentioned this was previously the fix. When I joined I was given an 07421 number and by the time I received the SIM my voicemail was already full from these nuisance callers. I ported in my own number with another prefix from elsewhere and the calls instantly stopped.

There’s no attack going on at CMLink. Their accounts haven’t been compromised or anything. Just people worked out that 07421 was being handed out almost exclusively by them at that time and targeted all numbers in that range.

Now that they assign random numbers to their SIMs which is any EE originating prefix you don’t get these calls at all anymore regardless.

As Declan mentioned in the post just above yours, they have an 07421 number issued by Orange that’s presumably never been anywhere near CMLink yet even that number is getting the Chinese spam and scam calls. It’s no kind of sophisticated attack. Just them trying every number with that prefix.

Just to check - do 1p Mobile do any sort of discount code, referrals etc to bring the monthly cost down further?
