extension recommendations

altho lm still waiting for a phone line to my place at the moment lve been wondering how best to do an extension from where the line is likely to be placed to where l live will be (its pretty much a static caravan, tho one of the posher type ones) its possible the extension will need to be in the region o possibly 50metures and going by extensions lve had around the houses lve been in before there will be speed loss, so lm wondering how to do it with minimal speed loss and hopefully minimal expense as well.

wireless card??

lm currently on wireless at the moment but lm mooching off someone elses connection, we were promised a phone line but its likely to be put in the bungalow next door.. you see they are worried that it will get back to the council that they have a static here without planning permission, now l dont mind having the router in the house (my netgear 11n) however lm worried that if it is the ppl who live there will turn it off allot, they do with their own, the wife tends to have a thing about wasting electricity and always switches their router off when she sees it not in use and if mine is plugged in the same area on a diff wireless channel it will impact the speed and will annoy the hell out of me not being able to use the net as l would normally...

the sync speeds lm seeing arnt the best so l want to make sure l can manage mine properly so ld prefer to have it where l can manage it 24/7 and if required turn it off when l need to if a reboot via the web panel doesnt cut it.. and since they plan to extend the line out to the static (thats if they ever remember to get the line sorted) then ld prefer it cabled in such a way that l dont loose valuable speed or have the possibility of messing up sync speed, tho thankfully with my modem at least l will be able to power cycle instead of rebooting when the speed needs resyncing.

Bummer, I'd go with the cat 6 cable option then.

thats what lve been thinking but it could cost a bit and if lm not footing the bill l dont wanna push it thb, as for the woman, shes been told by the office not to turn it off on work time but it still happens lol
