Fast 24-Help.

I`ve just read a couple of the forums on best multiplayer ISP`s and I am considering Fast24 as my new ISP. I would just like to know whether it is the Anytime or Alltime services that you guys are talking about, which is the one I should go for?

I use the Alltime as there are less restrictions! Its a great service for ISDN as my ping can get as low as 35ms on command prompt and around 60ms in Blueyonder counter strike servers! Thats using the 143 number! Its first time connection and also there is no cut off! I would truly reccomend it!

:D Cheers mate, definately going to give them a try, sounds just perfect.

I use fast24 as well, infact it was due to SJL2K's reccomendation that I signed up with them.

I rate them as well, fast for surfing, first time connection every time, however I dont find the multiplayer performance anything special. I play CS mostly and get average pings of 70-80 on most servers. Whilst this is ok its nothing better than I used to get with most other isp's.

I wouldn't rate this ISP as a gaming ISP.
I have had a lot better pings with other ISP's.

I'm connecting via 56K.
I find it near impossible to play sometimes with Pings going Very High.
I average between 250-450ms

It appears that anything between 70-150ms is the average ping with ISDN when you are actually playing and not just doing a ping request.

But this is my one and only complaint with the ISP. :D :D

I wouldn't necessarily say it was the fault of Fast24 ? Surely if this were to be the case, then ISDN pings would be bad too, and they're not

Well a lot of the pings quoted from fast24 users are from just doing ping requests either via dos/command prompt or a program.
In the real world you do not get those pings on a server when other players are playing what ever the number.
I think giving out these ping times is wrong people should just post pings they actually get whilst playing.
I can get pings of 150ms just using the command prompt but never in a game.
I think the ping Tazz has posted is a true reflection of what to expect.
I just don't want people getting their expectations up too high
yes its a good ISP but I have had better pings with other ISP's

Does fast24 have a limit in hours per month/day?
This is my main priority as I really like to download stuff often.

Well my pings are from a actual gaming environment. My ping go up and down like a yo-yo.

On the Anytime package £10 a Month =200 Hrs Month

On the Alltime package £15 a Month = No Limit

There are no enforced cutoffs or idle timeouts on either package

billy ur right mate!! ur ping while playing multi will be measured by
1 ur distance from the ISP in ms plus
2 ur distance from the server ur playing on in ms
add these together and hey u got ur gaming ping,
all these can alter depending on the servers connection speed, amount of people playing on the server and so on
24/7 ISP's suck for gaming as well as they use friaco which is crap
stick to a good surftime package one thats close in your area and not to bigone like freeserve,in this case small is often best

I got big problems with high pings and bad lag
(like 5 - >10 secs) I don't know if this is down to
fast24 though.
On 56k my pings in UT start at 200ish and rise to
25000, even though the UT server browser lists the
servers at about 200.

Maybe this isn't down to fast24, but if anyone else
is on 56k maybe they can share their experiences?
