fast4.net continuing HAZZARD!

Many thanks to MJW.

Here's my WARNING!!!!

FAST4. NET [do not confuse with FAST4] can damage your health

This is for information and guidance for those that are thinking of joining this ISP.
I should mention this is what happened to those that signed-up to the UNLIMITED package at £15.95, which no longer exists.

If you can remember F4 started off originally with a 500gb download limit [very impressive]. Then made it UNLIMITED, even more impressive. Except, Fast4.net had their own set of rules about what is 'unlimited' and if you downloaded too much [what is too much? only they know and can't tell you] they will shred your bandwidth to worse than a 56k dial-up service, and will let you know that you have 'abused their service'
As more and more people signed-up and began downloading [what else is broadband for?] F4 decided they were heading for trouble and that in its OWN interests it would instigate a ‘capping policy' i.e. a F.U.P [fair usage policy]
Please note that with each and any alteration to your package their ‘Terms & Conditions’ etc. is amended,……… they’re not stupid.
The 'capping' is 60GB per month, not too bad you might say, but wait, their in trouble again and within days of a 60GB cap you now find your cap has been slashed to just 15GB.The one thing you must do is read your e-mails and log-in to the Members area every HOUR in case you miss any alterations to your 'Contract' oh and by the way you are not asked to re-sign-up, instead you are given the option of moving onto another package which will mean you paying more to get less, or.... wait for it ...they will give you a MAC code!!.
The most disturbing thing about this so-called ISP is its extreme throttling of your bandwidth and its “temporarily” duration, if you fall foul of its continued capping alterations. I will try to explain.
You are on the 60GB cap limit, and you download 16GB [which includes your uploads as well don't forget], and because they have now 'altered' your contract to show a 15GB cap limit [you forgot to check on their site didn’t you] you have unwittingly fallen foul of their F.U.P, and are now being 'throttled', this action you are told will be re-set at the beginning of each month......so far so good? Remember with the bandwidth you are now on you will find it extremely difficult and sometimes impossible to perform even the simplest of tasks, such as 'Browsing' or updating vital software i.e. anti-virus & firewall updates etc.
You will find out that this action will start as soon as you go over your 'limit' i.e. if you went over the 15GB [if you combine upload + download, its very easy to hit this] in the first few days of the START of the month you won't get your 'service' back till the 1st of the NEXT MONTH!!! This F4 call “temporarily.” So you paid them for broadband and got less than a 56k bandwidth service for over 3weeks instead, and it’s all legal cos its in their 'Terms & Conditions' and if it isn’t they’ll alter it so it is. So if you tell them it’s not in their ‘Terms & Conditions’ go back in say 1hr and it will have been altered. You have no right of appeal to Fast4.net once you’re ‘capped’.
Remember I said this action would be re-set at the beginning of each month, well its supposed to be 'automatic' which means as its F4.net, sometimes it don't work!
Finally you will not be surprised that I'm getting away from this disgrace of an ISP and hopefully will find someone else who will treat me fairly and justly. If you still wish to join FAST4.NET be my guest. So happy surfing & downloading and “may the bandwidth you wish for, stay yours.”

P.S Don't complain, if your not happy get a MAC CODE.They can't rip their customers off if they haven't got any!!!

true but they can sanction a cease before you get a chance to use a MAC code, most ISPs which give you one tell you its only valid for 30 days and if you dont use it then your choice to stay with us, in this case Fast4 users are penalized and have to leave anyways.
