Fast4 Internet Network Abuse Team

This was already mentioned in the Fast4 thread, where someone has had the same email/letter.

Please note the part:

Please be advised that this letter is not and is not intended to be a
complete statement of the facts or law as they may pertain to this
matter
or of the copyright holders positions, rights or remedies, legal or
equitable, all of which are specifically reserved.

Which is rather oddly worded.

It should be known that Fast4 are continuing to suffer from what looks like congestion, and V21 (which some owners of Fast4 were part of) also sent around an email like this when they were congested.

And it must definatly be said that in every single case of an ISP going bad/having problems they cant defend, the reps have vacated the forums.

Anyway, if you are downloading lots of illegal content, then they are more than justified in sending that. However, if your not then Id simply switch provider.

Fast4 should rearly rename there company to crap4 i have had nothing but trouble with them since i join and am still getting lot of trouble. There pure joke I cant play online games with avrage latancy of over 2k and it dont matter what game i play. internet speeds are simply terrable 90% of the time i get less than half a mb. Simply put there company is a joke and i advise any1 to stay clear of them.

The only ground for complaint you would have from receiving that email/letter would be if you are downloading illegal files. If that is what you are doing then you deserve to feel the full weight of the law.

What a person does in the privacy of the own home is nothing to do with me, but if you decide to endulge in a little P2P in the future, you might want to look at Peerguardian.

All it does is block your PC from connecting to "certain" IPs that are contained in a regularly updated filter file.

It's by no means perfect, but it's better than nothing.

Using P2P services is in no way illegal, however using them to download copyrighted material is.

What happens is, the various movie/music/TV companies use the services of certain other companies, who's sole purpose is to connect to P2P networks and gather lists of IP addresses of users who are downloading and uploading illegal movie/music/TV titles.

What will usually happen is that your IP address will be traced back to your ISP, who will then be sent a warning letter by the copyright owners. They in turn will send you a warning letter/email as you are in breach of their terms and conditions.

In light of NickP's recent annoucment I just thought Id remind people of a few predictions.

Please note I didnt get it completely right, its more of a combination of scenario 3 and 4.

Its interesting how the 500GB limit was removed and now Fast4 are complaining about someone whom used 500GB in a month.

You cant remove a cap then send someone an email for going over it.

Ah well.

Fast4.net - CON PROVIDERS

Fast4.net is one of the worst provider. Won't recommend to anybody to join them.

I am going to get my phone number change and get another ISP provider. Not going to pay exit fee to them. Not even going pay my subscription until they cut me off.

Becareful you don't get blacklisted.

mine is worse than dial up, they can no longer provide a useable service, even more galling is that they are looking to provide a 24mb service..... Sort out your existing problems first....their support line referred to issues the directors were resolving...**** up and brewery spring to mind

I don't think they plan on fixing them, I think they intend on crashing and taking the money to do this scam again...
