Fibocom FM350 cheap 5g module

Thanks but I think these will be PCIe drivers and not USB.
You can in fact access the com ports using pcie using this method search in the registry about some wwanfeatureat then just change the value to 1

Do you know how to reset the modem to factory? Mine suddenly just stop connecting to networks no matter what i do i restarted and reinstalled the drivers but still no go. i might have typed wrong on at commands

If you think about connecting via USB, then any adapter usually used for such modems is suitable. To get specific recommendations, you need to be more specific with your requirements.
I wanted to use with a thin client, with openwrt I suppose...or Rooter firmware?

Hello guys just wondering if fm350 would work with openwrt or r00ter routers such as z8102ax or wg1608. I'm planning on buying one since it has been a hassle to switch the simcard out of the PC and b818-263 whenever I need the connection on other devices

It will work in USB mode with OpenWrt if you can create a connection script for it.
It will probably not work in PCI mode in the routers you mentioned as most likely they do not have PCI lanes available on the connector used for modems.

can you explain why would i need to create a connection script
This module does not provide a DHCP server, so you need to discover the IP information on the modem first and then create an interface with this data, on every connection.
I suggest you to refer to the corresponding OpenWrt forum topic.

Hi!

Hi. I've been experimenting with this module and this adapter:

in the hopes of using them with OpenWRT on an Intel NUC that I have laying around. Initially, I got it working quite nicely over USB. But while playing with it, I accidentally set the interface to PCIe only and now it's not reachable anymore.

Do you know if it would be possible to access the AT endpoint via the ethernet connection of the adapter above?

I also tried to boot the device in Preloader and other modes using mtkclient or mtk bootseq, but I'm not able to send AT commands that way either.

Unfortunately, among a lot of devices I have laying around the house, I don't have a single one with an M.2 B key connector with PCIe
:frowning:

Other than suggesting the prompt acquisition of a M.2 B to PCIe adapter, I can’t answer your question but thanks for posting the link. I might have a dabble myself.

Thanks for the tip. That thought had crossed my mind, but I wasn't able to find any such adapter. Almost all such adapters are geared towards storage and are M key or B+M key. And most convert to USB. If you have any tip, I'd really appreciate it, because I've searched for this a lot.

To connect the FM350 to PCIe you need the black adapter with V3 on it. This is the only one having PCIe lanes working. Learned that the hard way after buying 4-5 adapters. This one works both as USB 3 and PCIe.THIS one. Its vavailable on ebay as well
