Fibre connection line dropping - help!!

Hello
I have had Talktalks fibre service for several years it started off great even though I am 1600yards from my street cabinet and over 2 miles from the exchange.
But it has for the last 2 years been nothing but a pain in the backside with dropping speeds and intermittent line connection drops. All lights on the router go out except the power light and the Ethernet light and it takes around 3 mins to resync.

I have had Talktalks home visits 3 Openreach engineers so far this year the line tests are coming back as all normal with no problems.

The latest engineer replaced the connections for my line at the street cabinet the previous engineer replaced the master socket.

I have had 3 new D link super routers from Talktalk in 2 months
But still the connection keeps dropping randomly a minimum of a dozen times a day

I.ts frustrating and as a parent it is apparently all my fault the latest Xbox battle was lost.

Can someone please suggest what could be causing this?

I would ask to see if you can get one of the new TalkTalk Wifi Hubs for free from them, they have been known to improve connection woe's as well improve the Wifi availability and connection.

Also, have you posted here? https://community.talktalk.co.uk/

If you don't have any luck with the new router I would escalate your issue and then if you don't feel they are taking it seriously enough log a complaint. https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/How-do-I-make-a-complaint/ta-p/2204670

Good luck.

Look for trees in the path of the cable from your house to the box; when it gets windy, go look to see if the tree branches are hitting the line.
Also make a note of the weather conditions when the line drops, fluctuates.

You can set up an automatic 24/7 line monitor at ThinkBroadBand; just register and set one up.

Thanks for the monitor info

All the cables on the street are underground to a undermined wobbly manhole cover out side my house though I have been assured this isn't the problem.

I am just fed up with this taking over my life and wasting hours on the phone to Talktalk

Thanks for the reply I have made an official complaint to Talktalk and threatened them with the ombudsman.
In fairness to Talktalk I do think the fault is an Openreach problem
That said I will be asking really nicely for a new hub :)

I got the hub and it definitely made a difference on my previous FTTC connection, good luck with it all.

OK, glad at least part of it helps.
My sis had an issue with their predecessors many years ago; it was an obvious exchange equipment fault that I correctly identified on DAY ONE, yet they kept sending new routers every month or so, for nearly 2 years; before finally asking BTOR to check the exchange equipment.

Its just so frustrating I'm paying purely for fibre like many because of mobile packages we don't even have a house phone.
We don't have a fantastic TV reception so we steam everything we watch.
My fibre connection is currently 4.8MB download 2MB upload its ridiculous.
