Fibre First in Merton Park

My house is covered by the Merton Park Exchange which is part of the Fibre First FTTP roll out and listed as in-progress here. Exciting news for a nerd and gamer like me.

I've signed up for email updates with my post code but I'm curious what the options are once the roll out is complete (presumably in the next few months).

From reading here, only Cerberus and Spectrum Internet offer 1Gbit connections, is that right? Will both options be available to me or do available providers vary by location?

I don't believe Spectrum reach London, so only Cerberus may be able to offer 1Gbps in that location. However this will be expensive and you may prefer to go with one of the more consumer friendly 160Mbps or 330Mbps tiers.

Some areas also can't handle the 1Gbps service yet due to ECI kit limits. In terms of ISP choice, other than the above, you could also consider BT, Zen Internet, iDNET, Freeola and AAISP etc.

Thanks for that info, I did get the impression Spectrum was fairly South Wales-focused. Cerberus is definitely expensive for the 1Gbps package (if the exchange even supports it, as you mentioned).

I'd be okay sticking with Virgin Media but the upstream continues to be fairly anemic even on their 500Mbps package, not to mention recent reliability issues.
