Finally fibre is coming

Thanks for sharing those. Out of interest how did you find out about the £5 extra for a static IP?
I did manage to get rough go live date out of them being early April.

I’ve personally gone for the Quickline Extra package. Will be interesting to hear what router etc they have and in reality it will just be nice to have a reliable internet connection!

I’m pretty sure they don’t do landlines so if you still want a phone line you would either have to keep that active or move over to a voip service, something I am going to have to look into
I asked about the fixed IP address via their Facebook page. Currently with Vodafone and they provided it free of charge, need it for work.

The other questions must have been too technical as I was referred to their sales team. I have just sent an email to their sales email address, I'm not sure their contact form on the website worked given they haven't replied.

I'm assuming we don't need a landline/line rental if they are installing their own cabling, but most others seemed to require it as part of a package, I know I do with Vodafone even though we don't have a phone.

It's a shame their website doesn't give more details about their services and offerings.

I forgot to ask when they were starting installs, April isn't too bad, as you say it will be nice to have speedy and reliable connections!

With the provision of an April live date, that does answer my earlier question of whether they would wait for the whole build to be completed or make it live as they go.
It's going to be around 7 to 8 months from when Isn2011 noticed the test rodding/roping to going live.

I too have emailed Quickline a few questions, mainly about the router, VOIP etc. I haven't heard anything back yet but considering my village is only at the 'rod n rope' stage, I doubt they will rush to reply.

I see from bidb that they will be test rodding along the A15 from Folkington to Morton over the next 2 weeks.
It will now be interesting to see how long their Billingborough/Morton build takes to complete considering its about 3 times larger than the Heckington roll out.

Ah that’s good to know, I can only guess it’s an add on you would have to purchase when your account is live as I couldn’t see it on the order page when I placed my order

I understand Quickline don’t have their own voip service so we’d have to find our own. Yeah 7 to 8 months isn’t too bad for a build I don’t think although still too long! 😂 yeah will be interesting to see when yours will go live and see how our experiences compare.

I've had confirmation from Quickline that no landline is required.

The router is a Zyxel DX3301.
Ah fantastic good to know router doesn’t look too bad as long as it does the job. Can’t work out if an ATA will be required to use existing phones or not

Thanks for this information, it's good to know which router they will include.
Although, I'm secretly hoping that I may be able to get away with plugging my Orbi mesh router directly into the ONT, some ISPs allow it, others don't but time will tell.

To be honest, I'm not too fussed about having voice calls but just thought it might have been a nice back up option should they have offered it.

Going by the Quickline article on ISPreview today https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.p...tions-for-fttp-broadband-rollout-in-2023.html) it would appear that my village build isn't part of a big Folkingham/Morton/Billingborough* build (*Horbling is actually listed in the article) like I initially thought.

It would appear they are listing those builds separately, although I do now have an end of June 'live' date confirmed. So maybe come September I may have FTTP too, fingers crossed.

Ooo interesting I had actually missed that post, interesting how they list heckington build as January to March but I already know they have roadworks pencilled in for April 🤔 will be interesting

Hopefully you'll be able to get it installed very quickly., However like you, I do find it difficult to believe that Quickline will be 'live' in your area yet, especially going by all the roadworks listed on the brilliant bidb website.

Time will tell, please keep us updated.

Works here on the Billingborough area build, they are just at the 'rod n roping' plus road painting stage, so many months away yet.
They do have a local Q&A session at the pubs in Billingborough, Pointon and Folkingham end of nest week, so I may visit one of those to see what they have to say.
Just out of interest did you end up attending one of the q&a sessions? We have one for heckington on 2nd March which I’m considering going to

Unfortunately I didn't, work commitments meant I couldn't attend any of those local to me. I would have loved to have gone just to see what they had to say but never to worry.

No worries hopefully I can make the one in heckington work but we shall see

Hopefully you will be able to, I'm sure it will be of interest if you manage to get there.

I'm still surprised they had the Q&A sessions here so early on in the Billingborough build (Apr-June) when you consider the Heckington live date is currently pencilled in for early April.

Yeah it is quite interesting I also finally got a reply from sales regarding my order I had asked when they expect to go live and they are now saying 4 weeks 😂

I see they have put out a new press release on their website today about bringing 1GB fibre to 55,000 premises this year and in that article, they claim Heckington is going to be live in the first quarter of this year. There's a little blurb about the windmill and annual village show too.

Fingers crossed all those roadworks currently ongoing in the 4 villages all go according to plan, considering there is only just over 5 weeks left of the 1st quarter, it's going to be tight to make that deadline.

That’s very interesting - I know for certain we won’t be live straight away which is fairly frustrating but hopefully in 2 months the road works outside ours will have been completed meaning they will be more or less ready to go

So I attended the Q&A in heckington this morning and now the the live dates being proposed are June/July guess we will have to wait and see what happens with respect to that.

Oh, that's really disappointing news for you but I suppose on the bright side, at least it's being built and on the way to you, eventually.

I did wonder whether the date would slip after following the roadworks on bidb and I saw that some roadworks in Heckington are now scheduled for mid May and in Helpringham mid June (assume road closures are required).

This news doesn't bode well for me either being on their Horbling build. The test rod n roping works stopped abruptly 3 weeks ago and nothing has happened in any of the local villages since. Even some of the path markings are starting to fade away and worse still for me, they didn't even come down my road, stopping at the top of the lane. Looks like I'm going to getting a lot more mileage out of my Starlink set up.

From the dates they gave you, it would appear they are waiting until the whole build is complete before lighting anyone up. Fingers crossed it's June for you rather than another slip till later in the year.

I had a letter through last week from Quickline regarding a government voucher scheme for gigabit broadband. Filled in the form and received a call yesterday. The lady from Quickline asked if I wanted to go ahead and book in the install within the next week or two.

Turns out the voucher covers install costs not the actual rental sadly.

Strangely, when I go to the government page and check eligibility, I'm not eligible. But the lady on the phone said I'd been approved, I need to sign up and then the government issue the voucher.

Ah that’s great news! Am I right in thinking you are heckington? I had an email from the gigabit voucher scheme asking me to confirm that I would like Quickline to claim my voucher following placing my order in February. We still have works due outside our house next month so I wouldn’t expect an install date until the end of April if not May

That's correct, down Millview Road in Heckington. Have to say I was a bit confused about the voucher scheme, as the lady said it was for installation costs but there is no mention of installation costs on the Quickline site, just 'Free standard connection'. Their site could do with more details and an FAQ section.

I hope you Heckington guys don't mind me giving an update in here on the Quickline 'Folkingham' roll out.

It seems there are quite a few villages in this build.
Going from information on the Quickline & bidb/one.network websites I have worked out that..

Folkingham, Aslackby, Graby, Rippingale, Dunsby, Dowsby, Millthorpe, Pointon, Birthorpe, Billingborough & Horbling are all included in the Folkingham rollout.
Also Kirkby Underwood and Dunsby may be included too but I'm unable to confirm this at the moment.

In the last few days, works on the ground have now started in the area, quite a few excavations going on in Billingborough and Folkingham. I have also seen CBTs appearing on the odd pole plus rope sticking out of the bottom of other poles, so it's nice to see work starting to progress.
A long way to go yet but I'm still hoping for a live date this side of Christmas, fingers crossed.

Hows things going with the Heckington roll out? Any confirmed live dates yet?
Also, any of you attending the Quickline Easter Egg Hunt to win 6 months free QL broadband? https://quickline.co.uk/easter/

EDIT TO ADD:
Dunsby is confirmed as part of the Folkingham rollout too.
