Finding out who's building my areas fibre broadband

Not a major thing, but I've been puzzling this year about who is doing the build work for my areas fibre broadband. I'm in the small market town of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire.

Are there any websites that list this information?

What sparked this question is that since mid 2022, FullFibre announced (picked up by ISPreview) they'd taken the contract to build the fibre network in my area, updating the exchanges at the neighbouring towns/village of Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd as a group.

This year I got an email update from FullFibre, that planning was now complete and work would start soon. Then in the summer there were a few road closures, as new ducts were put in or fibre cables laid into existing ducts, by workmen in Zzoomm fibre high viz jackets.

I then saw an article on ISPreview for Nexfibre in July this year, on their additional build plans and Hebden Bridge and Todmorden are listed in their, with 2025/26 completion dates, but not Mytholmroyd.

So is this still a project managed by FullFibre and they've contracted out the build work to Nexfibre?
Really getting my head around the whole contracting out process, since it's a rural build to small towns, there's not a lot of profit to be had.

Cheers

Hi @South2North try https://bidb.uk and put your postcode/house number into the top-right and click Go. It'll show the roadworks in your area and who is attributed to it. Nexfibre is a supposed new wholesale network provider, but the only customer of the network is Virgin Media, so its very unlikely Nexfibre would have been subcontracted by Full Fibre to build anything.

Thanks for the response, that website is useful. I find it odd that Nexfibre list Todmorden and Hebden Bridge as being in their build plans if they only deal with Virgin? The nearest Virgin media network is in the town of Halifax about 8 miles away and Virgin confirmed they would not go beyond it due to the small size of the neighbouring towns and villages.

Will wait to see if FullFibre get the work done sooner or later.

Nexfibre and Virgin Media builds are currently completely seperate. Virgin media are an anchor tennant on Nexfibre but Virgin media are not managing the build. They have the same parent company, which adds some confusion.

If Nexfibre are building near you, then expect the Virgin media status to change when the Nexfibre build goes live.
