FireFox Add- ons

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have recently had a splurge on FF3 add-on programs and wanted to mention a few I have found useful.
I am sure 99% of FF users have got ABP+ and NoScript, but I will mention them for the few who dont.

I have found a program called "FoxyProxy" very useful; it allows you to set a specific proxy Ip to get around internet blocks. As I am constantly finding this and several other sites being blocked, I am finding it very useful.

"FoxClocks" has also found a home, I can now see exactly what time it is wherever my international friends are; so I do not email or text them while they are asleep!!

"Flashgot" is the best embedded file down loader I have come across so far.

"FlagFox" tells you what country is hosting the server you are visiting, can be useful to know, especially if the site you visit has been hijacked and had it's "secure" site moved to Pakistan, Russia or China by on-line scum after your log-in or credit card details.

Any one else care to add there recommendations??? We've done this before, but I cannot remember it being done in the last year or so, so I thought I would resurrect the idea.

So now we have to ask why ISPR is being hosted on a German server!!!

apart from my usual addons lve found some really nice ones recently..

usual addons:
download embedded
smart middle click
flashgot
noscript
adblock plus (and all associated addons)

new:
download sort
FEBE

download sort is damn useful because my downloads are sorted based on chriteria, if the keyword domain is set l can have them going to a spesific folder or just split based on extension its pretty sweet.

FEBE now this addon will save me one hell of allot of time, when l format and reinstall this will save me looking for all my addons and backs up all the essential information that sometimes ld annoyingly forget.. it backs up passwords, bookmarks, preferences, and most useful of all my favourite extensions! along with giving me the ability to select folders to back up as well if l so desire.

Foxmarks + 1 -- if you connect to the internet with more than one computer then Foxmarks is fantastic cos you get access to the same bookmarks regardless of what computer you are using.

British English Dictionaries + other dictionaries will spell check as you type emails, in forums, etc.

If you hate sites with flash then flashblock is the add-on for you.

Less useful but I still use it is colorfultabs, it gives you every tap you open in a different colour.

FEBE was already mentioned and it is very useful.

Stumbleupon when you have a few minutes too kill then it will show you sites you would perhaps never find.

Zoomy but you would need to amend it cos it was left unsupported quite a while ago.

l kinda like tab mix plus as well, tho ld love to see FEBE give an option for backup to a remote server, by that l mean putting in FTP details so uploads can be made other sites.. for example my server rather than the option they give you.. ld also use foxmarks if it gave the same option (cuz l dont really trust security of servers l dont maintain myself, that way theres only myself to blame if there is a breech)

It is not just the British English dictionary, I have the Russian and Chinese (simplified) dictionaries installed as well.

I also use Reloadevery; FoxLingo and Torrentbar

INTERESTING!!! After Noscript and Adblocker updated today, I got a BSOD talking about "POOL CALLER" (anyone know what it is??).
When I rebooted, 1/2 my FF add-ons had disappeared and I had to re-install them.

I had to restart FF twice before Adblocker would work again.

weird, lve never had an issue like that, everything has always worked fine.. l stand by noscript, maybe there was an issue that this just happened to hit and somehow this happened.. never heard of anyone else having any of these problems might be worth bring it up on firefoxs bug tracker.

It's the frst problem I have had since the "finished" version of FF3 came out, Noscript took another re-boot to start working correctly, so I wonder if it was a conflict between Noscript's updater and AdblockerPlus, although they have both updates at the same time before now.

I got sent right back to the "Welcome to Firefox" page, as if I had just installed it.
