Just some interesting stats about our readership that I noticed on my travels around web server land ;) . 76% of you use WindowsXP, 11% use Vista or NT4, 4.3% are on Windows 2000 (I understand that, good OS.. best MS ever did in my personal opinion) and 4.2% love the MAC.

In terms of website browsers, the bulk (35%) use Firefox and Netscape (same core), closely followed by 34% on IE7 and 25% on IE6. Just 2% use Opera and the rest barely register.

It’s nice to see that WinXP and Firefox is still the populist combination and that you haven’t all been completely suckered into Vista land just yet, although I suppose we’ll all end up there sooner or later hehe.

only 2% use opera :o cant understand why I moved from firefox to opera..

I still mainly use IE, although I also use Opera and firefox a little. Opera is growing on me as it (usually) is much better at formatting pages to print and the "speed dial" feature is nice.

I guess it shows that we all approach software from a different perspective. I looked at the speed dial in Opera when it was introduced and thought "What a waste of time..." ;)

I'm unashamedly populist, FF & XP on all machines, though I do occasionally use Opera, and IE when I must.

XP & Firefox for me.

I recently bought a laptop from Dell and thought I'd spec'd XP but it came with Vista (it was my fault, I checked - not an issue with Dell)

Aside from the more intrusive security and embedded DRM, I haven't noticed a great deal of difference to XP - though I do quite like the gadgets.

Been running Vista since it was in Beta, wouldn't go back. Still don't like IE though. Firefox is my browser of choice unless someone wants to port Voyager to the PC and update it. (See how may old Amiga fans remember it)
