fttp build times

our area has just started to build FTTP through installation on telegraph poles through Openreach/Kn circnet in the ML7 area and the brackets to hold the CBT are already on the poles. is there a rough estimate when this could be finished.

Also in ML7 and have been watching them progress through town had a family member speak to Openreach the other day when they were out and they said that they are aiming to have it completed in just over 2 months from now which is what my original estimate was

I'm sure we also had Virgin Media show interest last year in March as they are nearby and the Virgin Business Website shows a document by 2021 so there is a small chance we might get a double build on the town

This is always a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' type answer. Today operators are getting much quicker at bringing new FTTP build areas live, but I generally say that it could be anything from 2-3 months to around 12 months+, depending upon what might still need to happen in other parts of their network - after the engineers have finished in your patch.

Just an update the ongoing FTTP is still ongoing with Openreach clearing ducts etc no CBT,s on telegraph poles as yet but plenty of activity. Virgin media is in town with the first area of Torbothie ( Hawthorn dv, kelvin dv and calder dv ) should be complete in a couple of days before moving on to other areas of Shotts in May. Axione also in the area doing there thing exciting times ahead for Shotts.

Openreach have been quite slow in terms of progress since December in my opinion it's nice to see Virgin Media have followed through on there build out of the town despite the fact it's been 2 years since the idea was first proposed

Nice to have choices though despite it taking so long I wonder what Axione are upto potential 3X Build Out? 😂

5G has been available on Three around the Station Car Park for around 6 months but no clue where the signal is coming from as it's unstable at best maybe Allanton as they are showing on the coverage map

Just checked Axione here and it turns out they are indeed rolling out FTTP so that's Openreach Virgin Media and Axione all going for it now at least there will be no shortage of options going forward

Axione have just installed a massive (head end shelter) (exchange) in the Torbothie area of Shotts on Cemetery road with CBT connection brackets already on telegraph poles awaiting the actual CBT installation. according to my source in Axione cabling to start this month
