I've noticed that a few consumer brands are prepping routers with optional SPF+ modules TP-Link being one), what are people's thought on if Virgin (once project Mustang is complete), Openreach, City Fibre etc. based ISP supporting consumer hardware capable of a fibre connection, negating the requirement for the ONT? obviously it would be preferable from a power consumption perspective and it removes one additional potential potential point of failure (network cable from ONT to router)... I realise everyone has their own preference for networking kit so it's not really a debate on the manufacturer more, will ISPs allow routers with SPF+ ports?
