The first image is a node where all the fibre is spliced into, looks like this on the inside (picture attached) and your 2nd image is just a DP for all the lines to connect back to from the home.

The box at the top (2nd pic) looks like a CBT and does indeed seem to be the 12 port FTTP design, albeit a little hard to be 100% sure from that distance.

Thanks for the replies guys. This node is way down the pole, will it be moved further up once the FTTP has been completed?
There are 11 properties close to the pole so I guess this will be right to supply FTTP for all 11 properties.

The node half way up is a joint, that’s where it will stay.
It’s there so it can be taken down to ground level to be worked on if needed.

The bit up the top is the CBT, new cables will be connected here to feed the fibre to each property, and if possible your existing copper cable will be taken down during the swap over.

So the new fibre cable from house goes to cbt at top of pole, I take it this is already connected to the node then to save time?
All looks good to me, lets hope it can deliver a good speed.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the little points you see sticking out on the CBT are the caps on the ports, your new cable plugs in to one of these. The “bin” on the side of the pole is simply a joint where one or more CBT’s are fed from.
