FTTP when?

I've been checking the bt broadband availability checker ever since they started deploying FTTP in my area. They started in May, and 3 months later when I check my address with the checker it says that FTTP isn't available, and it's not planned either. Although the fibre first website shows that the build is in progress.

Today, I checked the street next to ours and it says that 330Mbit FTTP can be ordered but is "planned" and thus the order would proceed when available. Yes this is a new deployment so I'm not sure why it would say only 330mbit (yes it is FTTP and NOT FTTPoD) but regardless less than 300m down the road on our street there's nothing and apparently no plans at least according to the checker. But yeah my friends house is listed as planned.

I know it can take ages from work commencing to being able to order, but i can't help but feel like we might have been missed off the plans somehow. I'm getting entirely frustrated by being passed around openreach departments/emails/tweets etc. I've even got one email sitting right in front of me, from the horses mouth despite the work actually commencing that states that there are "No plans" to bring FTTP to my town.

God I hate this. Not knowing what is happening is really getting quite annoying.

On top of that, you have the confusion that can occur when multiple alternative networks are in a market, which may or may not include your area. Since a lot of them use PIA, which may or may not involve Openreach's own engineers/contractors (depending upon the arrangement and level of altnet training). Sometimes this can lead to confusion over who is actually delivering the network.

But specific streets do sometimes get missed out for one reason or another, and if your address is not planned to be covered, then that may well end up being true.
