I suspect the salesperson you spoke to didn't understand the difference between FTTP and FTTPoD.
FTTPoD doesn't appear to be listed as a product option on Amvia's website any more, but it does have a couple of old blog postings:
FTTP on Demand: 2021 Business Guide - What is FTTP on Demand? Check If You Can Access FTTP Using AmviaSearch Fibre To The Premises on Demand Checker FREE!

FTTP on Demand Costs - Analysing A Sample Of FTTP on Demand Installation Surveys Led To This In Depth Analysis Of FTTP on Demand Costs. We Prove That The Total Cost Of Ownership In Most Cases Is Higher Than An Ethernet Leased Line.

Anyway, the very first step with FTTPoD is to get a desktop quotation. They will need to take your address details, and send it to Openreach (via Cerberus I believe) for a response. It can take a few days.
The result you get is pretty random: the final price you pay could be half or double the desktop quote, sometimes bigger differences than that - but you have to pay £250+VAT to trigger a survey and get the real price. See the spreadsheet
here which collates desktop quotes and actual final prices from forum members over the past few years.
The best you can expect today is if you are less than 500 metres away from an existing splitter, and it is a simple installation (e.g. no digging required, not an MDU) then you'll be charged £2620+VAT, on top of the £250+VAT already paid. That is for the "
near network trial" which runs until the end of May. Otherwise, expect £8K+VAT or more.
