-- Short version, I would like a Gfast provider that offers 300mb speeds and 12m contract.

-- Long version.

Hello,

Currently at my house I am using 5G home broadband, contract is soon to be up, and for the most part it has been great but over the last 3 years it has slowed.

VM is in my city but won't cover my street.
AltNets are in my city but again, due to the cul de sac nature of my street, I can't see any being installed soon.

OR website shows no FTTP install coming..

I currently have an option for Gfast, and upto 300mb. Great. Other than it being incredibly pricy it seems and only a handful of providers offer it, it seems of those that do, Talktalk/sky only offer the 150 package.

Checking BT they offer the 300, but 24m contract.

The OR website showing their active list is very out of date.

Answered my own question, the BT website only shows 24m contracts. Done a Google to find a 12 month page, so I could sign up that way.

You may want to get any order in sharpish, the couple of ISPs that I have worked with that were doing Gfast are not bothering tooling up their ordering process for the SOGfast variant, so you have about two weeks.

I suggest you take the 160M option anyway: if this means your achievable speed is capped slightly, it will still give a more stable service.

The 300M service is unlikely to be satisfactory unless your house is sat directly outside the cabinet, and even then, you may find the copper is routed indirectly up and down the street.

I expect that the level of complaints about the in-real-life performance of the 300M product is why most ISPs no longer sell it.

Yes start off with 160/30 first see how it goes and wait for engineer to tell you if the line is over 330 then can upgraded to 300 later

I started with 300 g.fast and am around 125 meters from the g.fast pod. EE gave a solid 300mb down connection for 2 years until I upgraded to FTTP, isn’t it better to start fast and downgrade the service? If the ISP can’t give you the speed they will drop your package to the lower tier.
