G.Fast Providers?

My new flat has access to G.Fast, but not Full Fibre.

Finding it difficult to find a G.Fast provider, apart from EE. Who I've heard don't have the best reputation for broadband.

Does anyone else know of any G.Fast (300mbps) providers apart from EE?

Zen isp does g.fast i think

TalkTalk
They also still install the G.fast modem so using your own router is easy enough.

Sky and shell still do it

UnchainedISP do have excellent G.fast with free install, free of charge openreach gfast modem (but I believe Openreach stopped suppled it to customer) you have to buy your own G.fast router. UnchainedISP have 12 months contract on G.fast 160/30 @ £49.99 per month or G.fast 330/50 @ £56.99 per month as both including free Static IP address and including VAT. Customer support via email are always reply within 15-30 minutes from Keith. https://www.unchainedisp.net/home-broadband.html

BT do selling G.fast on 12 months with BT Hub but one off fee of £29.99 but you have to selected with landline phone for G.fast to show up. If you selected without landline phone the G.fast will not show up. https://www.bt.com/broadband/twelve-month-deals#

Ask Keith if Openreach will supplied free modem, if not you have to purchase G.fast router from here: https://shop.pulse8.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_27&product_id=52

Here is my G.fast with UnchainedISP last year but I am no longer with G.fast due to expensive pricing. Below is G.fast carrier by TalkTalk Business but you can ask Keith if you want to use BTWholesale carrier rather than TalkTalk Business but it depends on the area exchange carrier BTW/TTB.

U can't buy G.fast from Openreach but their selection of providers are rather poor as some of it don't sell it. Openreach should have updated it.

Pulse8 do have G.fast 330/50 for £57.00 a month inc vat and line rental but (no contract) as you can use pulse G.fast router via their shop online. I do believe that Pulse8 G.fast is from TalkTalkBusiness carrier same as UnchainedISP (12 months with them)

Cerberus still do it, and the rental is reasonable and only 12 month contract, but there is a hefty setup fee :-( Also it's unclear if it's SOGfast or needs a separate phone line rental - but they are very responsive to E-mail if you want to pursue it.

EE used to have a speed guarantee though. Which I guess is kinda nice. They promised me more than 100 megabit but their G.Fast delivered less than VDSL2 (long story, but our line is 298 metres long, and well G.Fast (the original kind) just isn't up for that stuff). So I was able to cancel my contract without penalty because they didn't meet the speed guarantee.

But the other options I had considered included Cerberus and Shell broadband. Only EE had the speed guarantee at the time (this was 2018 so probably all changed now). Personally I think G.Fast is rubbish but I would given my experience with it. Openreach have FTTPd my town, but left all the G.Fast areas untouched and cannot get FTTP because "G.Fast is good enough for most people" << Direct from Openreach. A useless attempt to keep copper alive and save pennies. Thankfully Netomnia have promised to deliver and I think they eventually will given their CBT is 7 metres at the end of my driveway (but still not live in almost a year now ... grrr)

You must be unlucky one with poor G.fast. I have no issues with my previous G.fast because I was much closer to the G.fast cabinet. Easy to get 160/30 with no doubt but I will not spend more money on Openreach telling me G.fast is the faster for you rather than waiting for FTTP.

I got useful 4G with vodafone beating G.fast hand down with over 140 to 170 down and over 50 to 70 up. And it cheaper than Openreach G.fast.

£193.80 Installation!!! No one want to pay this!
Over a year, that's only £16.15 per month. That brings the monthly charge broadly in line with some of the other examples posted in this thread, but with the advantage that after 12 months it drops way down.

In principle, this seems to be both fair and a good deal. G.Fast is such an unreliable technology, many people have been taking it and leaving immediately because it doesn't deliver the claimed speeds or is unreliable - leaving the ISP to foot the Openreach activation charge. Cerberus are able to cover themselves this way, and give a lower monthly charge in return which is much closer to standard VDSL.

The bigger issue to me is whether there's line rental on top. If so, it becomes unattractive. Given that their SOGEA (VDSL) pricing is slightly higher than G.Fast, I think this is probably the case. Maybe there's insufficient demand for them to develop a SOGFast product.
