Hi all,

I had looking up very careful of few isps that offering a true unlimited 2Mb broadband with no restriction, no capping, no port block, no speed throttling and no limiting. But, I am not sure which one of them are a truely geniune 2Mb with a truely 100% unlimited.

1) Eclipse Internet Flex Broadband Home 2000 Unlimited £29.99 a month with 1 month contract

2) EFH Broadband Freedom 2Mb Unlimited £29.99 a month with 1 month contract

3) V21 2Mb Unlimited £29.99 a month with 12 months contract

4) Freedom2Surf Connect Plus 2Mb Unlimited £24.99 a month with 1 month contract

5) Rural Internet Unlimited 2000 £32.50 a month (unknown contract either 1 or 12 months ?)

6) Naims Home 2000 Unlimited £30.99 a month (unknown contract either 1 or 12 months ?)

7) ADSL4Less 2Mb Unlimited £34.99 a month with 1 month contract

8) Zen ADSL Home 2000 £34.99 a month with 1 month contract

I am with Plusnet 2Mb at the moment and was thinking of migration over to one of the truely geniune unlimited broadband. If one of you are the customer of those isp, please can you tell me what the service are like and also what the customer service are like. Any help would be gladly to get my decision soon. I just fed up of many isp's had failed me with no true of unlimited broadband and often speed throttling like Plusnet did to me.

Many thanks for any help as possible.

Hi

Half your list is made up of V21 and its resellers (number 2, 3, 5 and 6 are all V21 visps) - and V21 simply resell tefonica/netservices anyway...

why not look at proper isps?

Namesco - www.names.co.uk
Eclipse - www.eclipse.net
Pipex - www.pipex.net

etc?

you cant get a truely unlimited broadband account these days every isp has a FUP inplace somewhere (mainly hidden in the depths of the T&C's) to protect themselves - too many got burned by bandwidth hogs in the past and went bust to allow it these days.

Metronet have been aquired by plusnet.

If I was a heavy user I think Zen would be at, or near the top of my list. I think their subscription still includes free access to binary newsgroups which would make it good value for money.

Also, I would be looking exclusively at one month contracts just in case the service deteriorates, and for an ISP that will issue you with your mac code for free, if and when you want to move on.

Ruralinternet have genuinely unlimited downloads & exceptional service. I've never had any problems with reliability or speed (runs on Entanet).

I'd strongly recommend you go with an ISP that owns and runs its own network. vISP's aren't generally sold as a going concern if they go belly up 'cos there's not much of an asset there.

Also go with one that has a true 24/7 support desk. You never know, you may need support at 11pm on a Sunday evening.

Being able to get through to someone straight away (rather than hitting BT Call Minder) is also an added bonus :)

I reckon there's still a bit more market consolidation ahead as we enter 2006...

i think dmcdial also do umlimited now.
me and most my mates are currently on f2s

If you live in a cabled area from January NTL will be removing the caps from their 1mb and 2mb service.

I'm also with Enta via UKFSN and queried this when I signed up. UKFSN stated that basically the ADSL was completely taken care of by Enta e.g. billing, support, etc., and that should anything happen to the UKFSN it would have almost no effect since Enta were in charge. Apart from initial migration e-mails all my correspondence has been from/to Enta directly, and I manage my account on the Enta site. Though I signed up through a reseller, I now deal with Enta directly - at least that's my experience so far. :)

P.S. Yes, Enta have their own network.

We have a lot (300+) of partners where we deal 100% with the end users (and another 100+ who do their own billing and support) if you want a list in your area drop an email to adsladmin@enta.net and they'll find a couple close to you.

We opperate our own network using BT IPStream for most of it (we have done bits of LLU type stuff but not on a large scale - yet) and some of our products are 100% unlimited while some are PAYG types (check with the individual partner as to which they are offering)

If you want anymore help then let me know via PM

Thanks every1 for reply much as they can. I been looked and searched but at the end of the day I think there is only one isp that I can trust and believe there is a geniune 100% unlimited 2Mb broadband is got to be Zen ADSL Home 2000 £34.99 a month with 1 month contract but I think I can wait until 2006 because I believe that BT will upgrades up to 8Mb in nationwide exchanges probably in early March until late summer August 2006 and maybe that all 2Mb will become UNLIMITED like NTL did.

Time to move on

I had now finally decided that I will ask Plusnet for a mac code next week and to join the top rank isp Zen Internet but I know it costly and expensive but I need the great speed, uncapped and a geniune 100% unlimited and this is why that I had to go with Zen Internet, so I can downloading better speed hopefully over 225kbs with 2Mb as Plusnet had been good over the past 6 months but since after that, it went downfall, the speed was awful on downloading just like back to old dialup as under 5kbs. I had decided it time to move on.

I will let you all know how I get on with Zen Internet after 31 days with them.

Wish me luck :)

Lucky me I just win the lottery £40, so the £14.99 one off fee can pay to plusnet for a mac code next week. I think Zen Internet offering 1st month free ! (Edit: sorry I was wrong, it wasn't offering 1st month free as I had check this isp as it was the other isp's Eclipse Internet who will offer 1st month free !

I just saw the Bulldog website, and apprarently they also guarante no-limit download, up to 8 meg superfast broadband, at £21.50. However, they ask you to sign up to their phone service, too. So you would spend another £10.50 each month.

What do you think? Is it better or worse than Zen?

My phone line is currently using the TalkTalk service; so I'm hesitating to sign up to another phone service.

Yup, Bulldog is True unlimited 8Mb BUT... (doncha hate the but parts?)

* Your local Exchange must be LLU enabled by Bulldog
* Remember that its UPTO 8Mb, The longer the line length the lower the speed, for 8Mb you need a line length under (imho) 1.9-2KM then after it starts to drop
* There is no news servers (in case you wanted them) you will have to subscribe to giganews or similar
* you have to subscribe to their phone service (Fully Unbundled LLU)
* CS Could be better but they have improved a lot recently so you gotta give em credit
* NO ports are blocked
* the Inter@ctive packages are Unlimited
* Cheap as Chips
* Static IP is £4.99 a month :( (Dynamic is Free)
* 1 Month Contract

as they say on some crap gameshow (wheel of fortune?) The Choice is Yours!! ;)

I had decided to join www.core-isp.net to have ago at this, if no good after 30 days, I will switch over to Zen Internet and that's was it. I will be leaving plusnet and will never go back to plusnet ever again. As Core isp offering up to 640gb downloading per month with no throttled for just £26.99 a month. Here is the url: www.core-isp.net

Wish me luck. Good job I did hold my mac code until I found out about Core Internet Service Provider all thanks to Bob2002 who had found this isp himself.
