Giganet didn't cancel my contract after I switched ISP

Got my 'your contract is due to end soon', on an OR FTTP connection. Against the option to leave they say they require 30 days notice. Have raised a query ref OR to OR transfers not needing notice as its handled by new provider, plus is less than 30 days and have been given a ticket number. Will keep thread updated but so far you have to assume their process is still non compliant.

I did get a reply from then on 8 Oct. Apologies +

It looks like EE did not contact us to switch and finalise the account on our side. We've escalated this to Order Management to sort for you. They'll be able to send a returns bag for you router soon. Any charges after 30/8 you will not have to pay for as we'll be able to write these off. I'll also send you a reply on email as well.

Since the common factor appears to be giganet I suspect it is their problem, not EE.

So they still owe me ~ 1 week subscription (thankfully I canceled the DD). I also owe the them router back. When they send a returns back.

Since I have acceptance that I do not have to pay after 30/8 (my transfer date) I could probably raise it through the DD guarantee.

I'm going to give them a month benefit though.

It's at least been confirmation to me that it was the right choice to leave. TBH

They have have their router now, never plugged it in as used my old router.
I find the eero quite awful. It doesn't give me the flexibility I need, so almost from day one I've been using it in bridge mode ie just as a wireless AP (which it's decent, but not the best at). My router is currently opnsense.

I also have an EE router (!) which only has wifi 6 but in practice gives better speeds than the eero. It's used at one edge of the house to cover car/security needs.

Still have an ubiquity (may need 2) u7-pro in my amazon basket. I was planning to order once the eero (which does 6e at least - I have some devices) goes away.

The u7 pro would be a lot better, and easier to manage multiple ssids (ie also with unique vlans etc) directly without moving to managed switch(es)

Mine is the pre Eero Technicolor router. Don't even know the model number ;)

Router is a Draytek 2925 from when I needed dual wan for initially ADSL and 4G and finally dual 4G. It still works with FTTP and will be replaced with another later Draytek if I go higher FTTP.

Update, they confirm OR to OR is covered by the new provider process and the 30 days does not apply. So a couple of weeks to go before I can start the transfer but I am going to tell them the transfer date when its finalised to be 100% sure. My Spidery senses tell me they will not recognise it when it comes from the new provider.

I had a return envelope. I am guessing it's from them, but there is no giganet etc branding anywhere and the address is generic. Have emailed to check, but I can hardly 'assume' it's correct.

Why on earth they didn't send an email, or include a compliments slip in the package I don't know.

Still waiting for a small refund on my account too.

They truly are awfully incompetent

Well my transfer out from Giganet seems to being going the same way as previous posters. As a courtesy I raised a ticket confirming the transfer date which has been ignored. Invoice for the full next month has been issued, I have to let that run as the transfer date is 2nd Dec but even adding the invoice to the ticket has been ignored.

Transfer went through as timetabled, Giganet are ignoring me, no account summary, no router return package and support case ignored.

Giganet OR to OR procedures are still non compliant.
