Good ISPs... where.....?

HI there,

I wondered whether anyone would care to mention any good, reliable, polite ISPs? I'm not sure there are really any out there. .... go on, prove me wrong.... I challenge you.....

Cheers

Andy

The Utility Warehouse do have a customer care line (call centre) and for very advanced technical problems a seperate number ( 75p per min though).

But, for customers that sign up under my hosted website ( see profile ) I will always try and keep personal contact with them.

My website has my contact details on, so at least if any of my customers have a problem or anything to discuss they know they can always to get me personally.

And it's in my own interests to bend over backwards to keep my customers happy.

It's not always possible I know, c**p happens sometimes, but at least they know I'm here to help.

I suppose that's slightly better than the norm. ringing 10 tens in a row a get a different person every time.

I've been very impressed EntityOnline. Technical support is excellent - at least they know what they're talking about, which is more than can be said of a lot of isp's. I was mightily impressed at the way they sorted out my slow speeds when I left Central Point. :)

I'm with freedom2surf-service is excellent, not had one drop since i've been with them. customer services ALWAYS reply and usually very fast.

I'm with NTL and so far I've been very happy with their service. Had to speak to their call centre which I guess is based in India as my cable modem wasn't activated on the line, but they sorted me out very quickly.

I was with V21 before and only cancelled my service because after moving I no longer had a BT landline. I was happy with their customer services and technical support, although to be fair I rarely called them - instead I used their online ticketing system (because I can't afford 50p per minute to speak to a spotty techy)...

Going on customer service only my experience of isp's ive used... Nildram.net who are my current isp are very quick to answer queries and been helpfull.

They are owned by pipex now.

Hi Andy,

Not quite sure what you mean by polite, but E7even are very good.
Customer service by email is second to none. Quick as hell.
By phone though it's £1min.
My website has some usefull info as well. ;)

As much as others put their ISP's on here for you to check out, contact them all with a standard question by email and see how quickly you get a responce.
That should eliminate a few from the off.

Not sure how fair a test this one is - many companies (not just ISPs) consider new sales more important than existing support issues. Perhaps a good test is to ask a technical question in a sales message to guage the ISPs ability...

Hello veryrichguy,

I used to use entity online before i got the job at zen and the perks with it but i found entity to have a better product than most of the larger ISP's i have used in the past and untill you have used a connection i dont see how u can comment on a company or its procedures therefore rendering your opinions pointless.

Next post i will be looking forward to some informative and interesting instead of your flaming of a company.

2 people in a room hardly makes a company, maybe u need to do some research.

Like i said they are just standard resellers with absolutely no control over the service they provide.

A company can be just 1 person namely a sole trader and yes i did do my research on this company before i signed up to them and had over 12 months with just 1 day of downtime due to a BT upgrade on the exchange.

id be interested to know what ur 'research ' came up with

im not gonna waste any more time trying to argue my point to people with little or no understanding of the 'full picture' . consider my input to this topic closed, i dont want to get banned from here.

I did it on the internet and the info i got is open to any one who has internet access.

Entity online are a very good company and the true way to see if an ISP is any good you have a look at how many complaints have been put on forums etc by genuine users and so far i havent found 1 complaint just alot of praise about them sorting out problems users have had.

u have no point, the only point u have is on ur head

I am with Plusnet, I called their helpline on a low cost 0845 number at 0400 hours yesterday, got straight through to a very nice polite and friendly member of staff, who resolved my query in about 2 minutes.

That is what I call service.

Take a look at their excellent web site.

Now NDO have been taken over by Namesco and the new packages have been implemented,
I think a few will be leaving including myself.
Trying to find a good ISP with no capping and a fair price, if there is one!!
