Good leased line providers?

First of all, cursed forum character limit for usernames.. (missing an r)

Right, here's the story:

We've had a leased line with Thus for roughly two years now, everything has been fine up until a month ago when our line was down for over 50 hours. Now, one of the reasons you go with leased lines is because they're meant to be very reliable and if there is a fault your provider acts quickly to resolve it.

Through a lot of incompetence our provider failed in an epic manner of one screw up after another, for something that could have been fixed in at least four hours it took over 50.

We're now looking at our options for other leased line providers, I'm of the opinion to probably go to easynet or zen. What are peoples experiences of other leased providers whether they're easynet, zen or other?

What i'm really looking for is response time, keeping you informed of what's happening and time to resolution.

That's very difficult to answer, especially on a forum focused upon consumer/residential services rather than business options. Easynet do have a good reputation but I can't speak for their prices.

You've not said where you are and the capacity you're after. Can you give some indication here (or via PM) and I can point you in the direction of the best for your needs.

One of the key things about choosing a LL provider is understanding the wholesale services that are being consumed to deliver the solution and does dictate the level of response that you get. The problem with Thus is a lot of their existing business gets lower support following their acquisition.

Hi EMS,

If you wish to give me some contact details I can pass them on to sales for some one to give you a call about it. I work ont he 24/7 team who monitor the leased lines and normally we contact you within 15 mins of the line going down, this is just to allow us to run the basic checks and diags before we contact you.

I'm in Leeds guys and the current line is 2mbit with the option to go up to 10.

The contract currently has 12 months left on it.

I've been talking to easynet and they're offering us two services, either the leased line which is the preference or this surestream service which is four bonded sdsl lines.

EDIT: We went with a leased line from ADSL because we were becoming increasingly dependant on the internet, so decided to go for the nearly most reliable line we could get. (hence leased line)

We'd had all sorts of issues with ADSL from line stability, to cheap arse routers failing to atrociously bad support. This major cock-up with Thus is leaving us investigating our options.

Okay, people to have words with (in no particular order)

They should all provide reasonable quote and have reputations for delivering on their LL services
