Has anyone got a Linksys MX4200 rather than the Adtran 854?

I'm due to have BeFibre installed tomorrow by FibreHeros and during the sign-up process I asked what router would be provided and they said Linksys. I was happy with that. However, now an Adtran 854 v6 has been delivered ahead of the engineer.

What are the chances they are just providing the Adtran as a (very bulky) ONT that will connect to a Linksys, or have was I misinformed and the router will be an Adtran?

I really don't want an Adtran and am considering going as far as refusing the install.

The ONT will be supplied and fitted by Fibre Heroes in this case and the AdTran will be the router.

They have been saying for years about supplying Linksys and a deal with them is ‘imminent’ but never seen one supplied to customers yet.

You can use your own router despite what they say you just need one that can spoof the MAC address of the AdTran router.

Out of interest what area are you in as I asked when ordering what router would be supplied as I said I didn’t want the adtran and was told they aren’t supplying the linksys to my area (Hatton)

Thanks for the responses.

Just to update, @nsmhd was correct. FibreHeros installed a Nokia ONT.

@danielwombwell I'm in North Shropshire and I had the same conversation when I ordered and they told me it would be a Linksys. I really didn't want the Adtran. I called BeFibre again yesterday and asked where the Linksys that I told I was getting was. I was informed they would ship me a Linksys in the next month. No action required on my part.

Speedtest results from the on-box Adtran test attached. I went for the 500s service, down looks great, up not so much, but I rarely move anything really big up anyway.

Hi OIMO,

had mine installed on monday but still has not gone live, they are having issues connect to the Nokia ONT they installed.

have the Adtran setup ready for now but will swap out to my TP link once it is working.

i have also gone for the 500 but might try to get an upgrade out of them with the fact its not gone live yet.

thanks

Had my install on the 9th August and got the Linksys.

No qualms, aside from the fact I'm unsure if there's a trick to Bridge mode, as I've tried all sorts, even spoofing the MAC onto my Asus router. No joy!

Good to see they are finally supplying the Linksys routers.
What network are you on Digital Infrastructure or Fibre Heroes?

Great to hear they are finally supplying the Linksys. What geographic region are you in?

I've just raised another support ticket as my Adtran just hung inexplicably again. It has done it a few times over the last month. First traffic stops forwarding and the WAN side appears to be down, then the wireless drops. Then it all comes back some minutes later. Although the box claims it has not rebooted, still showing an uptime in days.
