Has switching off 3g stopped calls on ZTE MC801A

I've got a ZTE MC801A router working on EE. I always had a phone plugged in to the rj11 socket and use it for making and receiving calls, which up until recently all worked great. However, now I get no dial tone any more and cannot make or receive calls. I've checked in the debug menu and the voice switch is definitely on.

The only thing I can think of is that EE have recently switched off 3g in my area. Does anybody know if the router requires 3g to connect a phone call? It never (noticeably) switched to 3g when making calls and always held at least the 4g LTE network and speeds when on a voice call.

Anyone experienced this or know if there is a way to resolve the issue?

Thank you

if you don't hear any tone, it was disabled may be thru TR069 or from an update
don't think that's related to 3G switch off
