Oh great news sendhelp, that seemed pretty painless, great result too.Had to insert APN manually onto the router. All good. 4G speeds are around 100Mbps on my old location, just gotta bring it to the new flat and play around with it.
Don't see any masts in the sea, nice view though.

Why isn't it feasible to have router in the other spot?
Yes, I'm probably buying powerline to be honest, something inexpensive since I don't need gigabit clearly with these speeds."Why isn't it feasible to have router in the other spot?"
And use a Devolo type device to promulgate the feed through the flat.
Could be a less expensive option.
In one of the first posts I recommended an outdoor one which is powered over ethernet, it would have been much easier to install. The hall has no plugs, I would have to use extension cords and according to my partner, wouldn't look good. Got a bunch of plugs elsewhere in the flat except the hall.
There might be an antena in that direction to the left because the router locks onto that specific band and I get very stable 4G speeds (router is connected to 5G supposedly) including upload whereas on the other spot, I get higher download but very very bad upload (1 to 2Mbps)

Instead of running a mains lead, you might consider instead a 12v extension lead. This could be almost invisible underneath a carpet or at the base of a skirting board. The hall has no plugs, I would have to use extension cords and according to my partner, wouldn't look good.
Does this plug into the router on one end and into the actualy router power supply on the other end?Instead of running a mains lead, you might consider instead a 12v extension lead. This could be almost invisible underneath a carpet or at the base of a skirting board.
Something like this:
Yes. It extends the 12v cable length. I used a 20 ft lead tacked to the skirting board with white tack for a few months until a new monopole went live and I could place the router elsewhere.Does this plug into the router on one end and into the actual router power supply on the other end?
Hello there,
Moving to a new apartment in a couple of days, where regular land broadband isn't available, not even DSL.
I'm now looking at mobile broadband. I'm currently with 3 on my phone (unlimited data) and I've got no signal inside the flat so I'm looking at other options.
Tested a gigacube from Vodafone (Huawei) from a friend and the best I can get is 40-60Mbps UL and 2-8Mbps DL which is low but to be fair, I'm fine with it as long as it's constant and stable. Ping looks stable at 20-30ms.
My post code is PO4 0RW if it helps you guys helping me.
It looks like to me the best options would be EE or Vodafone but my friend who lives a couple of flats next to mine says EE didn't work for them so they went with Vodafone. They get 5G because they are on a top floor flat and they get 100-200Mbps, I get 5G as well but speeds are as reported above at 60Mbps highest.
I play games on my PS5 but nothing too demanding in terms of network and also stream netflix, youtube, etc but nothing crazy.
I'm not looking for crazy speeds but basically I want to make sure I'm making the right decision by going with Vodafone. Also, do you think it's worth it to spend on a 5G router given my circumstances or would you think buying a better 4G router would be the best action?
I'm looking into buying a 5G Router and an Unlimited Plan from Vodafone/Similar network.
Looking for expert advice from you guys who on what to decide in terms of network, router and which contract to pick (Unlimited data).
TIA
