help cant get mac code

have been with ukrtc for ages now and its time to move on. after a rather big dispute with them i'v asked for my mac code. its been over a month since i asked for it and they say the problem is with bt. 4 weeks ago i said i was with holding payment until i got my mc seeimg as i paid 2 months in advance it shouldn't be a problem. to there credit ukrtc said no problem with that. they are still saying that bt wont give them the mac code any help please. i've talked it through with ukrtc and they said its out of there control. thanks

You may want to ask *WHY* they won't give the mac code. Just saying that they have a problem with BT isn't much of an answer....

Are they part of the voluntary OFCOM MAC scheme do you know?

If they are then a call to them may help. Otherwise you may have to ask for the last months payment refunded and a cease order placing with immediate effect.
If they are unwilling to let you leave with a MAC then just letting you go has got to be the next best thing.....Are you out of your contract?

according to them bt are saying i'm already migrating to someone but i'm not cos i've never had a mac code from anyone. before that they said for some strange reason there was 2 broadband accounts on my phoneline registered with bt but thats never been the case either.

Is your currant ISP migrating you over to LLU without letting you know?

i've had a look on samknows and theres no llu at all

ps yes i am out of contract

I am aware that BT are moving some of their dsl lines to a LLU platform to allow easy migration to and from other LLU providers, maybe that is what they meant??

I had an instance where a customer was given a mac code by us, but the gaining ISP was unable to accept the code and they said it was wrong. The mac had been generated by BT's system so I called them, the first person at BT Wholesale really did not care and I still did not have the answer to my question. So I rang again, the second agent was not sure but at least he went to find out. That is how I know about this 'migration'

So I'm just wondering if your line is now being moved to their LLU platform.

small but pointless update.

got a number to ring bt wholesale up and rang them. the number was given to me by ukrtc. they said there was nothing they could do as there was no reason for ukrtc not being able to provide me the code. she told me to contact ukrtc again, which i have but still can't get my mac code. dont know what to do now. cant move to new isp, cant get online between 8pm + 10pm every night. anyone got any more ideas please. thanks
