Redsave 271
:)

I had to think about the other one. Who, I asked myself, are "Santander"?
A bunch of antique rockers? Oh, no - that was "Santana", wasn't it?
Something to do with TV in pubs? Oh, no, that's "Setanta", isn't it?
I vaguely remember (don't know if it still runs, and wouldn't swear that I've got the name right) that there used to be a ferry from Plymouth, known to the locals as "the cabbage boat", to some place called "Santander", which I think might be in Spain.
Oh, what the heck, whoever they are, their boss can't be any worse than Neil "Bollocks" Berk, can he? :D

Never heard of Redsave, So BT 'won' my vote by default.

Santander is a Spanish company that owns Abbey, Alliance & Leicester, Bradford & Bingley amonst many others, and since I have just been given £100 as part of an A&L incentive I took up to move bank accounts to them (Ironically from Cahoot, part of Abbey, now part of Santander) I can't really grumble about them.

Glad I don't work for them though, since they recently announced big layoffs - 1900 jobs in the UK.

Never used Virgin, largely because of their appalling reputation so they get my vote

I'm surprised Play.com and Aria computers are in there at all.

Play have always been fine with me, and I would have thought Aria were too small a company compared to the others (used them once too, with no problems).

Not sure why Sainsbury's is there either - I haven't heard of a particularly poor service from them, unlike most of the other companies. Tesco's are another surprise, since they have gotten so big by generally being pretty good at what they do. Their petrol pricing policy has p1ssed me off though.

BT, PC World, Ebay/Paypal, Littlewoods, Pixmania and NatWest would all potentially get my vote - of the rest of the listed companies I have either never used them or have been a reasonably happy customer.

Tiscali possibly too, just because of their rep and the bollox spouted by their head. The one that claims content providers should pay ISPs to deliver their content, despite the fact that this is exactly what their customers are paying them to do.

I recently bought a couple of monitors (amongst other things) from Aria, one of which was supplied with a European plug. Quick e-mail and they sent out a UK lead free of charge. Really I've never had a problem with them. The same also goes for CityLink. :hrmph:

I bought a monitor from them about 18months ago - no problems. I like CityLink if only because their depot is less than a mile from my house.

I had a euro-plug supplied by Aria as well, no problem as I still had the lead from the old monitor.
I have used Aria for several years and never had ANY problems with them, other than that.

My dad has often complained to me about the local Tesco, stuff like mispricing goods, not applying BOGOF discounts and leaving up expired promotions. Once when he noticed that he had been charged the full amount for at item which was marked up on the shelf as being on special offer just a moment before when he'd picked it up on his way to the checkout, an assistant went off (supposedly) to check the price on the shelf and denied there had been a special offer sign when they returned. Also apparently they've never mentioned their mis-price policy (or honoured it when he's asked) when he's had to go back to the store to complain about being overcharged, just refunded the overcharged amount.

Still, they will be up against Currys, and of the two Currys would easily win my vote.

Tiscali v Play is a no-brainer. Can't say I have any issues with either Orange or CPW, if only because I'm not a customer of either, and haven't been for a long time.

Only ever bought a mobile from CPW (years ago), and I used Freeserve several years ago too.

Crap-phone Whorehouse are the only company apart from BT who have said that they will definitely pollute the system with Phorm/Weblies - that's good enough for me.
