HELP! Namesco DNS Settings

Hello,

I'm in desperate need of some help. I have an eCommerce shop through volusion, it is sitting on a temp domain at the minute

http://euxtz.koxne.servertrust.com/Default.asp

so i created a sub domain through my hosting site namesco called shop.thesignatureworks.co.uk. originally this domain was set up as an eCommerce site which was apparently a separate domain and not a sub domain, but i got them to delete this, and set up a new one under shop.thesignatureworks.co.uk.

I set up the DNS settings for this to point toward http://euxtz.koxne.servertrust.com/Default.asp using a cname. I created two cnames one for shop and one for www.shop both using a cname record to point toward the site. I set up another site in the same way and this worked fine.

after a week nothing was working, so i contacted namseco, after ALOT of emails back and forth they told me there was an error, that shop.shop.thesignatureworks.co.uk was forwarding to my website not shop.thesignatureworks.co.uk, and that this error was on volusions records. I cant see how this is possible.

so i went to volusion, and volusion told me the problem was on namescos side, and that i needed to delete one of the cnames. this hasn't worked! And i'm out of ideas, i also really don't want to talk to either of these companies about this again.

If anyone can help me out and let me know where i'm going wrong and who i need to be blaming, i would very much appreciate it!

I always think it's a good idea to avoid getting too complicated with domain redirection and just use the old Google approved .htaccess methods, although in some cases you need to do more than that.

I tried shop.shop.thesignatureworks.co.uk and noticed that it was redirecting just as you said. Hmmm I'm not sure why it would be Volusion's fault though unless you asked them to make some kind of change that hasn't been mentioned, it seems like all of the stuff would be done on your/namesco's side and thus the fault should be there.

Maybe the server or human error has resulted in somebody/something reading your "shop" and "www.shop" as one and the same thing, thus extracting www and leaving you with "shop.shop".
