Need help with locating sites on EE? Post them here in this megathread to declutter the forums.

Whether you need someone to find where a site is or need someone to locate a site for you since you don't have enough Cellmapper points, be sure to post them here.

I'd go first but EE is pretty well mapped.

I'll see if I can retain a list of sites that need help below, but it might be worth scrolling to the most recent posts.

Sites that need help currently: eNB 37648, eNB 37889, eNB 41356, eNB 43052

eNB 43052 - central Edinburgh. I assume this is a new site on the Cowgate to improve reception there?

Connected to 37889 at some point around Brean. Can't work out where it is, but surprised it hasn't been found as a lot of people have reported it. Estimated location is on Barry Island but is mostly mapped around Somerset.

Did connect to verified towers (e.g, 30981, 32159) near the estimate, they all seem to get out rather far.

This one is definitely a long shot and is probably wrong. I looked around the area and compared EE's coverage checker for 2023 and 2024 and saw some improvements around Enmore and Broomfield.

Couldn't find any planning applications for this area, does anyone know the council?

Anyway I've located it on Broomfield hill as the best guess for now, there's no sign of a mast on Google Maps as all of the data is outdated but since it was first seen in 2023 it may appear in future?

The data point for Cell 14 (B20) seems to have line of sight with Broomfield hill, although I would've thought the signal would be slightly higher

Think it might be on 37695. Filtering by band 3 only on the mastdatabase map shows something at 37695 added between July and September 2023, which is after 37695's last sighting. 37889 was also first seen after the last sighting, so it might be a new eNB after an equipment swap. Weirdly, 37889's band 3 was seen even before July 2023, but it might have been put on the map late. Not pinning it there for now, as 37695 could still be broadcasting and I can't find the planning of the mast (it's in Somerset North council, their website is not good)

Promising but it looks as though 37695 was there before May '23 broadcasting B20 only which matches with CellMapper. As you said though it does look to have gained B3 in summer '23 which hasn't been mapped yet.

I noticed the planning application number was listed for 37695. It's a slimline 15m monopole running on satellite backhaul with antennas supporting B3 & B20. Of course no Google Streetview in that area either.

Looks like it's range would be restricted as it's in amongst hills

I also need help with 37648, Cellmapper thinks it's B20 only atm
Another tricky one as it has limited data. There was a change in coverage on B20 only around the Far Oakridge/Tunley/Daneway area.

I found a planning application for an ESN mast however it was withdrawn. Street view doesn't show anything in that area but it's most recent imagery is Aug '23 and the mast first appeared in Jan '24.

Planning Elevation
Planning Location plan

Needs more data but I've located it at Far Oakridge for now.

New site appeared in North Leith, Edinburgh council area:

As noted in the wiki entry I think it could be the temporary mast to replace 11672 Trinity Academy (the mast my EE phone used to sit on most of the time at my old place!), but it could also be the new mast atop Kirkgate House that has been on the cards for a while to replace 12024 St James Kirk, Constitution Street. I'll be in Leith tomorrow with any luck but does anyone know anything about it before I go?

I think I connected to that yesterday on my Edinburgh escapade.
I was wondering where it was. :giggle:

You don’t have get about @The Wee Bear eh 😂
Yes I seem to be all over the place Declan, really enjoyed the walk down to the docks, it wasn't as near as I remembered though.😁

A lot of work going on down there, and demolishing Debenham's too.

Looks to be a small cell in the Sheriff's Court. I could only connect to it when at the back and side of the building, and nowhere else. Broadcasts only band 3 4G (dual carrier), though I didn't check 2G and 5G.

Been trying to find 30710 in Goring recently. Seems to be a single sector B3 site, possibly right alongside the Great Western Main Line. First seen in 2017 so far from new.

Haven't been able to spot any possible antennas on street view, and putting various nearby pin points into the SODC Interactive Planning Map yields nothing. Maybe some form of small cell?

its on the fire station tower

Edit: 12748 was incorrectly placed there - thats at the sewage works.
i've re-positioned both now

30710 isn't single sector either, its traditional 3 sector but only one has been mapped on cellmapper
