Home Hub or Speedtouch?

Hiya
I am just about to go to BT Option 3 from AOL, having read the hassle some have with the hub, can I use the old AOL speedtouch wireless router instead of the hub from BT?

BT's broadband service began its life long before the Home Hub and I know some people that still use different routers, which suggests that they probably don't lock it down to a single piece of hardware like Sky and some others do. However, I think with option 3 you get it FREE anyway so you can always try both and see which is best.
