Like most responsible organzations they take a very dim view of such things and will take appropriate action against the individual(s) involved.

That is not my intention at all. I am just suggesting that people should look very carefully at their call patterns before assuming that BT's "free" calls option is of benefit to them.

Using the figures you quote yourself, a customer pays an extra £5.00/£6.00 per month extra to get 'free' local calls at evenings and weekends. The point is that £5.00 would pay for over 9 hours worth of such calls during the month. Therefore the calls are not free until you have used that much call time.

If you regularly exceed those sort of hours (parents of teenagers probably do :-0) then it is worth looking at. I don't believe the company make this at all clear to people which is why I use the term "confusion advertising".

Hit a nerve I guess.

No nerve hit, just correcting your blatant lies.

You deliberately quoted BT line rental charges higher than the actual cost.

Your quote: "The basic line rental £9.99 + vat = £11.74 per month"

Actual charge for basic BT line = £9.50 including VAT

Your quote: "The BT Together package costs £14.99 + vat = £17.61 per month"

Actual charge for BT together with unlimited off peak local calls = £14.50 including VAT

Common sense would tell somebody that if their local off peak calls & line rental combined exceed £14.50 per month BT Together with unlimited local calls offers a great deal, if not they could either use BT or an alt telco, one that doesn't charge a monthly fee.

The "confusion advertising" is done by people like you, claiming to be a 'satisfied' customer in order to flog a service, a service with hidden charges.

For off peak calls BT (& ntl) offer the best deal, better than Telewest who don't offer an off peak package.

ntl line rental & off peak local calls = £13.99
BT line rental & off peak local calls = £14.50

ntl line rental & peak UK calls = £17.99
BT line rental & peak UK calls = £18.50

Telewest line rental & 24/7 UK calls = £25

WHAT'S IN THIS FOR YOU?

Referral Marketing:

Telecom plus is marketing and distributing its products and services exclusively through Referral Marketing and a network of independent representatives called networkers.

Networkers are offered a business opportunity whereby they introduce customers and other representatives or networkers to the company who would in turn also introduce other customers and networkers.

The Networker then earns weekly bonuses and monthly percentage commissions on the turnover of the representatives and customers they personally introduce to the company, and the turnovers of other representatives and customers
introduced to the company by the others in their group.

Be very careful...

There are several alt Telco's that can be used on a ntl line (co-op, totalise, tiscali etc.) minimum call charge from 1p (BT 5p). Be wary of for newsgroup / forum spammers like Telecom Plus who charge a monthly service charge of £1.76 plus minimum call charge of 3.5p

2)Yes I do act as a representative as well as being a customer - yes I do get paid for the business I introduce. There is nothing "cunning" about it or me. I give people a means of contacting me if they so wish. Commissions are paid to individuals and companies every single day in all walks of life & business. I don't know of many people who work for nothing.

3) I cannot speak for other representatives or their methods.

4) The board discusses alternative telephone service providers and this is just one alternative some people may wish to consider - whether you personally like it or not is irrelevant. These days customers have a choice and as with all things they should shop around to get the best deal for their circumstances.

Trading insults with anonymous users of a board serves no useful purpose as far as I am concerned.

Telephony customers can enjoy very competitive gas and electricity rates for example.

All I'm saying is that people should look at the overall package on offer. Everyone's circumstances/usage are different but for many people they could be a very good alternative.

I'd rather be anonymous than a dodgy salesman pretending to be nothing more than a customer.

You failed to declare your financial involvement with Telecom Plus

You failed to mention the hidden charge incurred with Telecom Plus, £1.76 per month.

You failed to make clear the 3.5p minimum charge, others have a 1p minimum charge.

You are trying to sell a product, not offer an unbiased view about the best value alt. telco for BT or cable customers

bt employee of the year does more to discredit BT than any other person on this board.

we only have to look at the sad lengths BT will go to to make themselves look even 1/2 decent!

oh well :)
