Honest - SMART eSIM is here!

Frankly Discord should not be used as a solution for support. Just spin up a Discourse forum for god's sake instead of making some Discord server that I'm probably going to leave as soon as they actually give me an eSIM.
It does seem like their prioritizing giving 3GB eSIM's to people on the Discord server, maybe this is a easy way to boost their reputation without giving eSIM's to thousands of people?
I wouldn't recommend Seeek for reliability anyways, most reliable one I've used is Firsty personally and I'd argue it's the most direct replacement to smart SIM since it's designed for low data usage anyways.
Firsty used to be decent when it was 300Kbps, but at 100Kbps It's too slow for web browsing even with an ad block.

Also, it stopped working for me twice, it's currently not working even though support said the technical team will look into it months ago (after support went through the most tedious script).

At least I can say it's actually always worked whenever I turned it on, sure Vodafone is on 2G but at least I don't have it refusing to connect or restricting access to some networks unless my signal is low
I never tried this but RWG are offering 1GB/month on all networks for £24 a year instead of £5 a month on Smart SIM. With pretty much unrestricted internet accsess and way faster speeds.

They're now offering it as yearly? That seems pretty good but RWG is a bit sketchy too, I would personally recommend that if customer service actually was good.

Smart SIM is for essential apps and 100kbps is better than nothing as a last resort. I believe it is enough for backup calling as well, so it's helpful if O2 loses signal.

Boost their reputation? I think it's already tarnished and giving it to 20 people isn't going to magically resolve the glaring issues overnight.

I shouldn't have to use Discord to get support with a service honestly. You can keep it as another option, but try and not make the other options sub-par.

And also, how the hell am I supposed to take them seriously when the images they've put on their website do not seem professional in the slightest bit?

Connor isn't even looking at the camera for god's sake and some of the others look like they're on holiday with the skip the queue money.

Rarely will you actually find something that is truly "free," most of them have some catch. It's good for spare data when I'm struggling to even load train timetables on Google Maps and it's good for cellmapping. That's it.

They are pretty well established at this point and I think The Wee Bear had a good experience with them. A huge selling point on the RWG plan would be that it's a physical sim, so any phone can use it. I have a friend using an Nokia G50 so I'll let him know about this.

No way it's worth £5/month in it's current state, so many better options. I only posted the comment asking about supported apps because I thought it was a one off £5 payment.

Idk it just seems like they have a very limited amount of eSIM's to give away and they're strategically picking who gets them.

I never said that they are professional, I would never give them money.

It's free for me and I'm consistently getting over 100Mbps around town switching between 3 and O2, I can stream 4K video on it if I wanted to. I haven't got any ads from them in the past 6 months.

Sorry not too sure if there is a thread for this already but! I managed to get to the top of the queue and paid a whopping £5 for the new Honest SMART eSIM… with unlimited data for specific apps.

On boarding process was easy - you just have to log in with your email and buy the sim…

You then get an email with the QR code… and when you scan it, it pops up as a Telnyx and it give you an US number.

I haven’t tested the sim yet - but I’m just popping out on lunch so will report back.

Assume the £5 option is gone…

Roamless can be used anywhere and actually works. The credit doesn't expire. And it's not a UK company!

Who is the upstream partner? Is the ping sky high?

Just bought a Smart ESim the country list looks promising assuming it works

Unfortunately doesn't work on ESim.me so need to see if I can activate it on another device or if I need to request a new ESim

Any idea why it doesn’t work? I haven’t found any esims which don’t work yet.

Sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question but I'm assuming your on WiFi activating the sim? eSIM prefer WiFi when activating

eSIM activation can be so weird..... My iPhone totally screwed up an eSIM transfer on the office WiFi (100/100 symmetrical Cisco kit so not bad)... But then went onto the weakest 1 bar of Vodafone 4G on the other SIM and it did it fine. Like what...
