Im with Spusu - no throttling
What size of data plan have you got gypsymoth?
I kept getting throttled on the 5GB plan, so I left them for Talkhome.

Every time I reached 300 meg speed, my data connection would always reset. :(

I actually had the same problem a good few months ago when I first tried them, but I actually forgot about it when I signed up again recently.

Perhaps they just do this on the 5GB plan. 🤷‍♂️

It worked out better in the end though, as I get 10GB now instead of 5GB for my fiver. :giggle:

Have Talkhome sorted VoWiFi and VoLTE yet?
I haven't activated my SIM yet Dave _, but I don't think so, I'll post back on Sunday if no one has confirmed for you before then. :)

With Spusu you can suspend an account/number btw. It's like disabling auto-pay in Lebara, only you have to ask them nicely on whatsapp/email. You won't get charged.

Im on the 50gb plan

Let me check my claim about max speeds when I head out later. At home the signal isnt great so I get about 200meg max

I'd be open to moving to another EE-based provider if I got 50gb for £10-ish a month and max speeds etc. Currently paying £12.50 a month

Cheers gypsymoth, they might leave the higher data plans unhindered, but I only managed to get one speed test done because of the constant resets, and used up the whole 5GB.

I only need 5-10 GB for an odd speed test when I go out and about, but Spusu was totally useless for that unfortunately.

Hopefully Talkhome will be OK, I'm not activating the SIM until Sunday, so I'll find out then. :)

How long did your TH SIM take to arrive OOI? For me it's been 13 days and the dashboard still says "On its way."

Yes my dashboard said the same mpmc, but mine 'only' took a week.

As I wrote my post I was waiting in the queue for their delayed "live" chat. 2 minute reply my foot, it took 20 mins!

Alright. Might be the first SIM card lost in the delivery. I am sharing the details with the relevant team to send the replacement SIM card. You will receive in next 2 to 3 working days.
Given you've also had a delay, I have my doubts about the above in bold.

The Spusu SIM I ordered on 2024-08-26 arrived 2024-08-29!

Mine only took 2 days (to Birmingham)
Yeah it was posted first class Mobyle, but difficult to pinpoint if it was sent out late or if it was Royal Mail, I'm inclined to think it was Royal Mail just being rubbish as usual. :(

Did a little test yesterday locally. 5 bars, 5G... no higher than 200meg down, and about 40meg up. Not scientific but it feels a bit throttlely!
