How difficult is it?

Trying to leave Plusnet as my new employer is supplying (or trying to) my broadband connection.

gave plus a month notice.

paid for the modem etc (thought that was free).

asked for a MAC code - told I couldn't have one because of LLU (???? im a newbie to all this).

finally got a disconnection date........then received an email to tell me that I was now on a pay as you go account (that i didnt ask for).

contacted plus (eventually got through) was told oops! yep sorry, our mistake.

a week later was informed by my employer that they couldnt give me broadband as there was still "incompatible products" on the line.

contacted BT who told me it was Plus's problem and I should conatct them or Tiscali.........Errrr as I said I'm a newbie....

Got an email from Plus (hooray) to say that my line would be clear by the end of August (four weeks after disconnection).

Got an email last Friday to tell me that my Direct Debit had been submitted and I would soon be enjoying Broadband........still with me?

Contacted Plus again and explained the whole sorry tale only to recieve an email today to tell me there had been a mistake and I was only being transferred to a pay as you go account.

Help please!!!!

I cant work from home and my new employer is not too impressed!!

Having to use a 56k dial-up...oh deep joy.

Regards

Richard.

What the hell is going on at Plusnet towers? About 4 or 5 years ago I'd have recommended Plusnet without hesitation, but not now! It's probably safe to say that we're seeing more problems on here about Plusnet than Tiscali, and that's saying something.

I don't know the best way to help but maybe you could send a private message to bpullen the resident Plusnet isp rep on here.

The Pay-As-You-Go account is just a basic, no subscription fee, dial-up account that PlusNet assign you after you have cancelled broadband - it shouldn't be anything to worry about ... :hrmph:

They are having problems with some ( Tiscali spit ) LLU connections and issuing a Dial Up Account as an interim measure.

The OP doesn't say he's having a problem with using LLU, only that he's trying to get rid of it - and when you cancel your PlusNet broadband you end up with a PAYG dial-up account by default (at least that's my experience with a couple of accounts). :hrmph:
