Not that I ever intend leaving my ISP, but how does migration work should I choose/need to do it?
From what I know, you get a code from your old provider, which you can transfer from one ISP to another. But what is this code. Is it the physical code of the cable the technician has to swap over?
Plus, what timeframe are we looking at. APprently there should not be any downtime, so what actually physically gets done to your connection.
Is it as simple as pulling out a wire in an exchange and plugging it into a new hub?
Because I cannot understand why you simply choose to change ISP, then your ISP gives your details onto your new ISP automatically, who then manage your connection.
Unless each ISP has a set of cables in the exchange, which when you migrate, you must give up and get a new cable from the ISP you join.
If so, what happens if you join ISP on different networks, such as BT wholesale and easynet network.
