How Flexible are Openreach on FTTP Installations?

This is my first post here I apologize for it being long winded.
I currently have Sky FTTC and looking into FTTP now it is available to me.
My setup and proposed setup are shown on the attached image.

My current setup is a copper cable (FTTC) into the porch of the house that connects to a Master socket (green box) in the study at the back of the house (Shown as Red Dashed Line, approx. 15m run of cable) fitted by BT.
This in turn connects to a router which feeds the house with a mix of Wifi, Ethernet cables and switches.

My proposed FTTP setup is as follows.

1) Create a new entry point into the house for the Fibre cable as shown by the RED box at the bottom of the image. This would mean moving the entry point about 2 - 2.5m along the outside wall of the house (marked with a Black Dashed Line)
My main reason for this is there is no electric points anywhere near the current entry point and I don`t really want the equipment on display in the hallway either.

2) I propose the ONT equipment to be sited in a cupboard as shown in the image near the bottom of the image, where there will be a power supply.

3) Then I propose running a Cat 6a cable (Shown Green Dashed Line, Hidden beneath skirting etc) directly to the router which would be situated where the current one lives and can connect to ethernet cables and switches already there.

My question is basically would Openreach facilitate this setup as proposed?

Any replies greatly received

I found the Openreach engineer was flexible in terms of installation location. I had my fibre installed to an upstairs rear study. The person on the phone was less amenable.

Obviously, the internal Ethernet cabling side is all on you, that's not the engineer's job. The engineer will want to know where to put the ONT, so it's best discussed with them when they arrive. A more complicated install may attract an extra cost, but that depends more on the external than internal work involved (i.e. the fibre run to the ONT). Generally, engineers can be quite flexible.

OR Standard Install

OR scope may be restricted by what the ISP has specified but the standard install should meet your needs. You just need to ensure there is a power socket for the ONT in the cupboard and a temporary one for the Router so they can set up and test.

Your layout actually suites collocating ONT/Router and other equipment together with a UPS in the cupboard rather than in the study. A simple switch in the study for wired and a suitably located WIFI AP/Mesh would cover elsewhere better.

With the current Covid guidelines, 2m internal fibre cabling is the most an engineer is permitted to run at the moment. External cabling, not so much an issue. I’d say your setup is do-able, baring in mind what Mark said; Ethernet cabling is up to you.

Im not sure about Openreach, as it happened to me with Virgin, but if they come to do pre-works and you’re not at home they may run a cable in the wrong direction.

Before installation, Virgin came and ran a wire under my garden to the wrong side of my house and then couldn’t really do anything about it.
