How long does Ducting Of CBT Take?

That's about as bad as it could get unfortunately. You shouldn't be showing as available to order at all.

They thought from survey they could reach you from a CBT on the other side of the building which they cannot.

According to all this they cannot put a CBT on the outside of the building on your side as there are too many units and will probably have to treat it as an MDU. I'm unclear how many units are on the other side but it seems they were able to use an external CBT to reach those.

There is the possibility they'll be able to treat you in the same way as the other side of the building but they don't seem optimistic.

There is no quick solution here according to those messages. This may take months, longer, or may not happen at all depending on the solution they end up using and if it hits obstacles.
There's cbt extremely close Though I dont know why there stretching it out i wish I could talk to the chief engineer in person and show him

My next door name has fibre activated its extremely close openreach put it on for them a week ago in that process they cut out my landline which I had to call and get fixed but they managed it without a duct why can't they do the same every on my adress has it available but not me my section on the centre its confusing as hell is there anyway I can contact the openreach engineer and show them my situation

Also is them putting in mdu good or bad will it effect the speeds I purchased for

MDU isn't good as MDU is more complex.

They are looking at how to serve all the potential customers in the MDU not just you, and also how to do this as simply and cheaply as possible.they don't want to connect you to a CBT which doesn't make sense and have the capacity, only for your neighbours to say they want it too, because if you can get it why can't they

Once the work is done you would get the same speeds as anyone else

They seem to think the CBT is on the opposite side of the building from your unit. You cannot contact Openreach engineers directly, it's your ISP's job to do that.

I can see that one of the addresses in your postcode has FTTP.

I've no idea of the specific layout of your apartment block however it definitely should be done as an MDU. It's hundreds of units and looks like Openreach were trying to avoid having to get new wayleave.

The good news, if there is some, is that OpenReach obviously have a wayleave agreement to install fibre CBTs with the property owner.

The FTTP build has put the CBT on the other side of the building, and I assume the neighbour that has the active FTTP service is also on that side of the building, is that right? The OpenReach engineers obviously do not feel that it's appropriate to run a fibre cable from the other side of the building, is there something architectural that makes the cable run complex?

You mentioned earlier in this thread that you were assuming a duct would be needed from a chamber very close to your property, was that based on any knowledge that there is a CBT in that chamber, or was that just an assumption?

Is the entire building owned by the same entity? It is confusing but it does suggest there is already a wayleave agreement?

Another question - how many outlets does the CBT that's on the other side of the building have on it? I can see your postcode has 6 properties which I assume might be the ground floor properties. And door number 104 has active service with a live ONT.

Unfortunately that wayleave would have a specific route plan, etc, attached to it. It wouldn't cover any internal cabling or additional external cabling if existing stuff is external. It'd seem odd for them to go through the grief of a wayleave for the sake of a single external CBT so no idea what's going on.

If they have to cable across anything that isn't communal they need wayleaves from every property on the way to the customer. Potentially they had an existing wayleave that covered the CBT and could follow existing cable routes to reach properties without wayleave but no idea. No way of getting pictures from inside the development and I'd have to pull in a huge favour to get a look at the Openreach plant.

Agree that the Wayleave will have a specific route and plan but ultimately if OpenReach were able to negotiate one they know who to contact and another could be done if needed. @TottenhamZeroFibre has managed to get considerably closer to fibre than I thought would have been possible based upon the postings in other threads a few months ago, a little more tenacity and they might just pull this off.
