how to get broadband over 60 meter distance

I'd like to get broadband over to my garden office about 60 meters away from my house, I use an apple ibook G4.
What do I need equipment wise and whats the best way to do it?.

Hope some one can advise?

Cheers Kevin

Assuming you have an electrical socket in your office you might try HomePlug mains networking. Buy a HomePlug ethernet bridge like this - http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-pl-14pe.htm , attach one plug to your ADSL/ethernet router, the output from the second plug to your Mac ethernet connector - and that's it, you're networked. I use HomePlug myself for networking because Wi-Fi just doesn't cover the whole house. Wireless could be an alternative, but I'll let other people comment on that. :)

Hi, I'm trying to get advice on how to get a broadband connection from my house to my garden office about 60 meters away. I don't have broad band as yet.
I use an iBook G4 Os 10.3.4
What is the best way and exactly what do I need etc.

I so far have had;
1) Apple base station, D link modem and another Apple base station but then others said this wouldn't work.

2) Apple base station and a Dr Botts power Anntenna Thingy???

3) Mimo wireless access, a netgear rangemax 240, would this do it and is this all I'd need??.

4) Apple base station with wired ethernet cable running up garden to another base station in office.

If it was better to keep to apple airport stuff whats the difference or which would be best as in a apple express base station or Apple extreme base station.

I'm no computer buff so the simplist easiest method which would work is what I'm looking for.

Also
I can connect to my sisters wireless broadband in her home but had to put in 'BT voyager' and password off of the base of her router.

My nieghbour said I could try to piggy back his wireless broadband but I coudn't get my iBook to see/find his router even after putting in his 'Netgear 834g' router and password?. even sat in his kitchen.

Haven't tried connecting with any other wireless networks but don't understand why My nieghbours son can just open up his notebook PC and connect but then I can't.

Do I need to do something else or set up something????...

Cheers if anyone can help on this
Kevin
