Hey

I am looking for a screen recorder program to record step by step How-to demo for my products. I would appreciate if someone could suggest a good and inexpensive screen recorder software?

l cant remember what it was called however lm sure macromedia made a product that did that, which imho ran very well in no promises but l will possibly look later and see if l can find the name out however at the second lm taking a rest from working on my friends server, still have too much work to do and only so much time for a break :D

Im wondering if FRAPS would work as well, The paid version is absoultly brilliant for recording game footage. Will have a test later and see what happens

FRAPS would be your best bet if you want to record exactly what you are doing to video. On the other hand if you want to have transitional effects, add notes to the actions etc. etc. try the macromedia product mentioned above called Captivate, Adobe have since slapped their label on it and the current version is v3, it produces very well polished, proffesional flash files with minimal effort which could be left as flash or converted to a video format. The downside is its cost (aprox £450) although im sure you could get it... shall we say ALOT 'cheaper' if you look around for example the internet :)
FRAPS on the other hand costs $37 (around £18). Get the demos of each and give them a try. Links below:
FRAPS 2.9.3
Captivate 3 (free account registration required)

Our training dept use Macromedia Captivate for things like this, seems quite good it also allows voiceovers too along with each frame.

thats the program l was thinking of :)

I think what you are asking is how can you play video files on webcam? If that’s what you are asking then you can use fake webcam or webcam simulator or a program similar to those two. There are many out there. Fake webcam is free I guess.

what the hell? he asked "a screen recorder program" no play a video thought my IM programs...

Hi keriamurphy,

Please note that we do not allow people to have multiple usernames on this forum and have detected that both keriamurphy and angelikaalston are the same, which of the two do you wish to retain?

then this is the weirdest spam l have ever seen... besides screen capture and webcams.. wtf did l miss here? without some sort of fact mentioned webcam software wouldnt have come up...

*puzzled but not bothered any more, too busy packing as we are moving house on the 22nd*

Banned one, removed the other.

Good luck with the incoming move timeless :) .
