Huawei 5g cpe pro with external antenna

Ok, My first post so here goes.

I currently have the title router and where I have it placed is on an internal window ledge at accommodation where I work. I get a good/decent 4g signal but if I open the window and raise the router a bit I can also get 5g, obviously this is preferred. So, I went and purchased online an external 5g antenna as the router cannot be placed anywhere else. But when I connected it up I could not see any difference and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to pick up 5g. This is a link to the antenna and the seller said it is the correct antenna for the Huawei router?5g antenna

Thanks in advance

This looks like a chinese 5G external antenna, shouldnt necessarily mean that it will not support 5G but might be weak at receiving 5G at the borderline dead spot by your window. If you can afford to blow £200 on an official external antenna then you will find a UK shipping priced in pounds one on Google after enough digging.

Messaged the seller and they said it is a match and it appears to cover the frequency range. Puzzled that raising my router a few inches and I get 5g but no matter where I place the external I get nothing. The seller stated that they have sold many and have received many positive feedbacks.

Although £200 isn't by any stretch past my means I don't think I would feel comfortable making the purchase

That's probably a bad antenna.
Good ones usually cost 10x more.

Instead of spending on that I'd get for the same money or less an external 5G router, easier to mount and you can close the window on the flat network cable, very neat. Also you avoid any coaxial cable losses.

This is what I use for example, it's plonked on my roof:
